All ifs and buts, what would you be thinking if it was your £200m investment?, I think the board went for the cheap option in Hypia and it has back fired might be wrong of course.

I'm not necessarily criticising Bloom. He has spent a lot of money and it's his right to do what he wants. What I'm saying is it's harsh to blame Hyypia for that. He deserves a fair go but if we have a bad week (don't win one of the next two games), sadly I think he'll be gone.

Are you for real!

Read my whole post. I've clearly said it's his right to do what he thinks is best for the club. However, I'm fed up with everyone else being blamed e.g. Burke, Barber, Hyypia etc when Tony Bloom decides the budget and what is spent. He's the one who makes all those decisions I'd imagine.

There's a massive blame culture on NSC with people starting threads to blame almost everyone for our current situation. Sadly, I think Sami will pay the price if things don't improve soon but I'm just giving a bit of perspective. Tony Bloom seems to be untouchable to our fans, and in many ways that's right as he's done so much for the club. However, we didn't spend big (similar sort of money to Ulloa) on a striker this summer and a fair assumption is that's down to budget set by the chairman. If that's not true, then it changes my argument but if people are throwing around blame, this is worth remembering.

I actually did read the whole post...and I am not part of the blame culture on NSC and am very happy with the team in their current seats. Not clear to me at all that TB deliberately sold Ulloa to repay himself a small percentage of his investment in the club, but if he did i personally wouldn't blame him. In fact I'd positively applaud the remaining investment. The most likely reason for the sale was just that it made great business sense, and we didn't have great alternatives within the window to get in a replacement. Paying £7m to get a striker not of his quality would have been a real mistake.

Saturday was the first really disappointing performance I'd seen. But still too early to judge the man after the massive squad overhaul this summer. If we'd continued with 90-95% of the squad from last year and had these same results, then I'd be questioning Hyypia more. Wasn't overly excited by his appointment in the first place but certainly not ready to turn my back on him yet.

To be fair, I'm not saying we should have spent £7 million on a striker (£2.5 - £3 million was what I'm aiming for) or that Tony Bloom planned to use the Ulloa money to repay himself. My sole point, in a thread asking whether we should sack our manager and the majority saying yes, is that in my opinion we didn't invest enough this summer.

I'm not saying you are part of the blame culture on here but nobody can deny that NSC as a whole loves a scapegoat. Everybody but Bloom seems to get singled out for criticism. All I was trying to say was that he decides the budgets and that people should bear that in mind when slagging everyone else off.

I completely agree that we had to sell Ulloa as it was a lot of money and he wanted to go. I just think we're one quality striker away from at least a top half team and maybe the club should have pushed the boat out more to get one. For all I know, we did absolutely all we could to get a quality striker, in which case the view is not valid. I'm just trying to paint a different picture from everyone blaming Hyypia and certain players for our problems.

You make fair points and I'm mostly onside with you. I am equally frustrated by some of the JCL who expect immediate success and if not want to sack everyone. As has been evident in the last few years, continuity is very important. I would have loved to see a bit more money spent to get in a really decent replacement, but can only assume they couldn't be found. My only point to you is that this doesn't mean its Blooms fault, or indeed necessarily anyones fault. I for one voted to keep Hyypia a bit longer while we see if he can turn it around against worse opposition. I certainly hope we can attract this level of striker to get us up into the Prem, or turn Baldock into that.

Mind you, my colleagues at work support QPR and Leicester, and they are not having much fun at the moment...

Ulloa was £2m as was Michu for Swansea so these bargains are about but we chose to spend big on Baldock doesnt seem logical to me. Plus Baldock is a different type of player and couldnt directly replace Ulloa. Just hope he comes good and links up with CMS to score goals.

lose the next two games against huddersfield and rotherham then i think he could get the sack
I don't think they will lose the next two games but IF they did, he WILL get the sack. If he does not win one of them or at least draw both bare minimum he might well still go.

Playing them together might help

As much I want SH to turn things round he has the look of a manager who knows his days are soon to be numbered-not a good look when trying to motivate your team who are at the ass end of the table.

It was a gamble by TB who normally gets things right but for me it's looking like a mistake, sorry to say. No doubt Tony Bloom will act when he thinks it is time to make a change-if he does think change is necessary.

I dont think he should go at the moment. I would like to see the scouting staff come up with a cheap foreign striker in the Ulloa mould. He was relatively cheap by FL standard and there must be others in Spain or elsewhere in Europe particularly Eastern Europe like Romania, Bulgaria etc.

but can't do that until January.....too long I fear.

An unnecessary gamble too when you think about it. Unless maybe he had a short contract or a get out clause.

I am now agreeing with the out brigade.

As I see it he may or may not have chosen the squad but it is his job to play a system which brings the best out of the players he has. Problem is he doesn't appear to see that they are not up to playing his system. I expect he will still be here for the Rotherham game and they will probably win with a better work ethic instilled by their manager.
