96mph winds already recorded on the IOW.
Watch out for disruption and UFO'S.
Roads shut....fence panels and roof tiles flying.

It could get tasty.:drama:

I flew into Gatwick around 22:30 last night, they were definitely the worst conditions I've ever flown in. As a prospective Commericial Airline Pilot, I have absolutely no problem flying at all. However last night was just a touch hairy I'll admit!

Last night was windy, already had to rescue a recycling bin from up the road. Where most of the recycling is remains a mystery.

Hopefully that was the worst of the storm and today is not up towards 90mph.

PS: The forecast for the coast later today is gusts of up to 67 mph with lunchtime being the peak.
ie: A Storm or Gale force.

Its could about 10miles or so less inland.
Should remain dry.
I saw a forecast saying up to 80mph, I think according to the Beaufort scale above 73mph is a Hurricane.
I am no expert but I do remember the 1987 disruption as I lived on the coast at Littlehampton. I'm not suggesting it will be that bad, but it could get naughty.
I am just hoping the neighbours trees come down !!

Sustained wind speed of >73 mph would be bordering on cat 1 hurricane force but these are just gusts.

Surely that roof is going to get ripped off if it's even slightly pointing south west!

Imagine the damage that 97mph winds could do to the Isle of Wight

Got to be at least fifty quid's worth.

I had a FENCE POST down in BN10. All the rest still appeared stable.

Slightly concerned what state they will be in when I return from work.....
