Very, very popular in Ireland and another big weekend next Sunday with the All-Ireland Senior Football(Gaelic) final - Galway v Armagh. The houses/villages/towns here always have a very strong bond with their county - there are maroon flags outside many houses, on cars etc.
Mrs Corner is watching the hurling while I’m covering cricket and golf - Open building up to a cracking finish, finally England have a couple of quick(and greatly needed wickets).
Clare have a 3 point lead in the hurling!

Just watched for a few minutes in which time Clare scored and the commentators were thrilled with it and said something along the lines of "you'll have to go along way to see a better goal at Croke Park than that".

Aside from that not making any sense, I'm going to chalk that down as a win and excellent timing on my part. Well done OP.

I can't take my eyes off it. Never watched a whole game before. Loving it!

It was a tough choice between the hurling and the cricket, but I am glad I chose the hurling.
I can catch the highlights of the cricket later.

This game is an absolute cracker, I wish I understood what is going on!
I didn't have a clue either, but I think I've grasped the basics.
You flick the ball up with a giant wooden spoon. You then run egg and spoon stylee towards the opposition's goal. When you're within about 60 yards of it, you toss the ball up and wallop it as high as you can with said spoon, through the top bit of a rugby goal. Goalie has no chance with any attempts reaching an altitude of more than 12 feet.
Fascinating and entertaining in equal measures.
