[Other Sport] Humboldt Broncos RIP

Friday night a coach transporting the Humboldt Broncos junior Hockey team was travelling to a game 5 of the league playoffs, sadly the coach was involved with a collision with a transport truck.
The coach was hoping 29 met, bers of the team (aged 16-21) their coaches, stats guy and local media guy… to date 15 have died, at least two further are critical and the survivors include young men that have a broken back and no feeling below his waist.
They come from a community of just 6000, hard to imagine the impact of families, the team, the community.
Thinking about how many of the coaches containing football, hockey, the other football, basketball school, college and rep teams on a daily basis. thank goodness this is almost a one off.

Thoughts to all involved

I only just heard about this. Dreadful news. Imagine how the parents must feel waiting to see whether their child is alive

Another on life support as they prepare to donate his organs, truly horrible. Apart from parents, most players are not from that city and have in effect a sort of foster parents that they live with during the season. Add into that a community where everyone seems to know everyone (or certainly do now).
