John Simm isn't in Go.

And that's another film that doesn't actually have as much going on in it when you watch it now than it seemed to the first time of viewing. At the end of it everyone acts as if that really was some way out weekend they've just experienced when in fact all that's happened is some mates tried to sell some drugs, went clubbing and pissed off a dealer. I think when I was a kid it seemed great but having gotten a bit older it all seems rather tame compared to reality

Yeah totally got my actors confused on that one - thought John Sim (sp?) was that British bloke in Go.

I disagree about 'Go' saw it recently and still thought it was pretty decent.

No way, John Simm is the man!

I'm with you Durlo, HT is a great film.

John Simm can be a good actor but overrated in most things. Was good in The Lakes (1st series, 2nd series was shite), the worst thing about the over-praised Life On Mars and even though I don't like Dr Who, I saw the one he was in and thought he was f***ing terrible. Nowhere near enough gravitas to play The Master, even worse tha he dresse din a Primark hooded top??? That's not what the Master wears!!

I was unduly harsh on this film yesterday. As it followed on from the Blur doc and their Glastonbury highlights I ended up watching it for old time's sake and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I still didn't like the cheesy love story in it BUT otherwise there is a fair bit to recommend in fairness. As Chappers says it's not taking itself too seriously so nor should we.

It's a good bit of fun and some of the scenes are true gems.

I'd forgotten just how frighteningly true the Spliff Politics bit is

The best film ever made is on tonight, BBC2 1.20am.

Pity it's on so late but worth recording if you've never seen it before. Starring John Simm and Danny Dyer it's about a group of mates that have an amazing weekend, clubbing and partying with some brilliant humour thrown in and wicked choons in Cardiff.

"Cushty! I knew you wouldn't let me down, i knew it!" :clap2:

Strange how opinion varies so much on films. I saw it years ago, then bought it in Fopp for £2 - it's still brilliant IMO

Saw him on stage in London recently - he was excellent. In the right part (have a look at State of Play, Sex Traffic) he's awfully good.

Did you like the Lakes?! It was disgusting, it was more or less soft porn. I used to watch that with my parents when I was about 12, I wanted the ground to swallow me up there and then.

YES! Yes exactly.

I'm so glad I wasn't alone

One of my endearing images from that program is someone getting BUMMED in a freezer. I had to f***ing sit and watch that as a young child, I swear it scarred me.

Why do they put that sort of shit on terrestrial channels.

Haha! Yes I remember the same thing. But I had it on DVD and the first series is not half as bad as the porn riddled shit 2nd series.

An interesting question however sometimes these risqué adult dramas on terrestrial telly turn out to be future wank bank gold.

I remember something called the Tribe which featured a horny Anna Friel getting her kit off and to this day I still treasure this fond memory
