If I were begging, I think rather than "spare 10p toward a coffee please mate?" or spin some wanky sob story, I'd sit there with a cardboard sign, saying "Spare some change for 4 cans of Stella, please".

I reckon people would appreciate my honesty and cough up.

Sign of the times. People are not as principled as they were, population growing and they've all figured out it's easy to lie and extort the generations before them.

This is just bollocks. i challenge you to find evidence that people are worse now than they were 20, 40 or 60 years ago.
