Not a bad thing to lose.......We probably would have lost with a full strength team. Hull are above us in the league and we don't need the lengthening injury list a cup run would have almost certainly given us. Yes it would have been nice to have Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea or another big club but we would have probably drawn a Championship side away, lost, injured a couple more players ect ect ect. The real negative is we tried our squad players and managed no shots on target and 1 shot in total. Oh well let's get back to league action and try to avoid relegation!!!!!

Very disappointing with our squad players. It must be so frustrating to not be in the team, probably thinking you should be in the team then, when the chance comes (as it also did in the LC), players like Ince, Holla, Chickson just show thet they aren't up to the standard required.

Why are you disappointed? To be fair to them they are clearly all reserves up against a good first team. No contest really. Only looked vaguely threatening when the subs were made.

Totally as expected. Completely meaningless match in the context of our season.

No not at all. Not to sound arrogant but it seems some people here either don't understand football or are completely oblivious to how a cup run would affect our Championship form. Playing in a team you've never played with before is the hardest thing to do in a football league as competitive as this. You don't know if your partner will cover you if you go forwards, if you should cover him if he's gone forward or if he's quick enough to get back himself. The sort of connection Kayal and Stephens have takes weeks to form and many matches. Add to that a formation we've probably NEVER used in training and it's a miracle we only shipped one goal. I expected 4-0 with players running all over the place and not sure exactly what their role was.

Ive said it all season - our first choice players plus a couple of the squad players are good enough to match any team in this league, however there is then a gulf in quality and desire to the rest of the squad.

Like Bill Arnold (who has just been on the radio), I've seen many a poor Albion team and, in the big scheme of things, we are better off out of the cup this year but these are professional players and supporters spend a lot of money to watch them. Losing 1-0 at Hull is not too bad but having a team that doesn't appear to bother is, I find, a concern.

I agree, but at the same time, it was made quite clear earlier this week that we were fielding a weakened team, giving the impression that the club doesn't care about the cup. So, as a player, you're being given the message that you're not seen as being viewed as an option for the first team, and the club don't really care whether you win or lose. Why bust a gut? You're so far down the pecking order, even if you put in a good performance, it will be in a match the club don't care about, which reduces how much a great performance will mean.

Maenpaa sounded like he did well, Warren mentioned three good saves, and a great one after Goldson's error, only beaten by a penalty. Maenpaa will still be sat on the bench back in his role as second choice. What chance does Holla have of getting into the first team even with a great performance?

I know 'professionalism', try to change the manager's mind, and so on. Realistically, it just isn't worth it for most of the players in today's team.
