TBH, and (possibly controversially), I quite liked the philosophy Hyppia had. He played wingbacks a good press and passed out from the back. The problem he had was that we didn't have the squad to be able to play the way he wanted and he had no Plan B.I seem to remember that all of us were calling for Hyppia to go but TB stuck by him for an embarrassingly long time. Eventually I think Sami walked out, not sacked, and Chris came in to save the club from relegation. That’s how I remember it anyway.
I've often wondered if he was just too ahead of his time for us... Or maybe he was just rubbish?!
