Why do people STILL call him Houghton? He has been here a season and a half, and was well known in the game before he came here.

Agree. Would suit a manager looking for a last big payday for a couple of years before retiring perhaps - not sure CH is in that camp yet, and other than money can't see why he would trade Albion for Villa now - even if we don't go up, we'll finish above them next year I reckon, they have the look of 'freefall' about them. Ha anybody thought to ask NooBHA his views as he is very friendly with CH it seems and would know if it was definite non starter. He may of course chose not to answer a question on it.

If I were to ask Chris the question he would skip round it like he does in Press Conferences when he doesn't want to answer a question; however he has turned down a jobs where there is turmoil behind the scenes or at Board level. So I think he would have no interest in it.

Secondly, he knows that if he went to Villa that half of the fans and local Press would be hoping he fails because of his links with Birmingham so why would he put himself in that position.

And finally and more importantly, he has built a team at Brighton which is in touching distance of the Premiership. I think he feels he is capable of getting there with Brighton. He never discusses potential promotion because he never likes to tempt fate but he isn't superstitious either. I am more superstitious than he is.
