Brighton and Hove Albion are just days away from announcing their new manager after the resignation of Sami Hyypia earlier this month, according to chief executive Paul Barber.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday evening, Barber said: “The chairman is back from Australia and is very much part of the process. Over the course of the next few days we expect to come to a fairly quick decision.
“We’ve been working down to a shortlist which we’re down to now. We worked from quite a long list and narrowed it down quickly because of the time of year we’re in at the moment.
“We certainly want someone in to contribute to the transfer window. We’ve got a big transfer window coming up and want one or two reinforcements into the squad to boost our squad as it stands and our league position as quickly as possible.”

He was promoted once so not sure what you mean by every time?
After his promotion he was 11th in the Premier League with Newcastle and sacked. 11th with a newly promoted team is not 'mediocrity'.

Not that different to what I've heard from a Norwich fan (while he was managing them). Think it went pretty wrong at the end, especially once they signed Van Wolfswinkel and Hooper as an expensive strike force and they didn't score many!
Think he was okay in the first season or two there but lost it quite badly. I'm hopeful, given he did well at Newcastle and Birmingham, that he'll do well for us in the Championship. If he did get us up, then he'll have done more than anyone else and we could worry about his ability to manage in the Premier League then!
I would prefer Pulis (and still don't think we can rule that out if Sherwood gets the West Brom job), but it does seem people are writing him off already. Typical NSC.

The "Transfer Window"is causing this bloodbath frenzy of manager culling ! I don't wonder if we get 14 pages on it as the inhumane sport of "Toffs "
I don't think he's showing passion to get the job, but I'm sure he'd show passion whichever club he worked for, it's his way. Given his reaction to Brighton fans when he was at Yeovil, I wouldn't say Brighton is the only club he cares about, it's just the club he works for and cares about at the moment. I don't have a problem with that, but I don't regard him as only ever loyal to Brighton.

It's just my opinion.. I don't rate Hughton he does not inspire me at all, I would be the same if we were linked to Mick Mcarthy and he's currently doing a great job at Ipswich.
Yep, although William Hill now make Sherwood odds-on to be WBA next manager.

Yep, fascinating this managergoround. With WBA it has been said on here that they run the DoF model with an iron fist, whereas Sherwood wants some control. I guess it is all about compromise at the end of the day especially in an emergency situation which could just be an end of season deal.
All good fun though.
