I half make these posts to wind you up Chailey. You miss my point completely though, I would not expect someone to laugh at an injury, more to do with the fact that so many long term injuries at the Albion are termed “niggles” initially. We are past the niggle stage with Andone I think CH should do his best to avoid using that word for Andone now.

Ha ! but to be fair to Hughton i'm not sure he does. He hasn't about Andone for weeks, if at all. (The argus or other press might have)

Today’s Argus love in article says Bruno and Dunk POSSIBLY back post international break, Jose and Andone not yet. Nothing more.

Expect to see neither this side of Christmas at this rate.

What I really don’t get is Duffy played on with a groin niggle, then had an operation meaning he missed a week of pre-season yet has returned to the fold without so much as a band aid.

I think you have answered your own question here ???

Andone as I said is the new Stephens/baldock.

Will be out for 4-5 months in total as the updates are equally as mysterious as those two had (basically been one month so far considering he said he was touch and go for watford before).

Yep. Hughton himself has said he expects him to start training again next week. - but that was from an interview 10 days ago.

It was also from a chat with Jose 11 days ago and a chat with another player a week before that.

Feeling confident.

Andone and Izquierdo AVAILABLE after the international break.
Bruno has trained last few days, CH to make a decision.
Hope Dunk will start training tomorrow.

Ben White [unknown] - "He came off in the Arsenal game [for the under 23s last week]. The good news is he's fine. We were certainly worried initially.
"He is okay but I don't think he will make Tuesday/Southampton. He would have played."

Dunk [ankle] - "Could train Friday. Hasn't been ruled out [for Fulham]"

Bruno [hamstring] - Argus : "Trained all week (week beginning Aug 27th). Will make late decision on [Fulham] involvement]

In Chris's world "very close" means being able to stand on the touchline and watch training [propped up on crutches or with the help of two burly physios]. Basically, unless they are in a coma, they can be "very close to training with the rest of the team"!

He said Dunk and Bruno would return to training this week 10 days or so ago. .

They have.

Ben White [unknown]

FYI - In the Ben Barclay article in the Argus today, he mentions that White's injury against Arsenal was a knee problem:-

... Defensive partner Ben White, who impressed on loan at Newport County last season, is ahead of Barclay in the pecking order but White was ruled out by an injury he picked up in last week's draw for Simon Rusk's side at Arsenal.

"I was playing with Ben last Monday at the Emirates when he came off," Barclay said. "I think at first he thought it was a bit of a nasty knee injury. He had a scan in the week and it turned out it wasn't too bad. That's obviously good news for him. It gave me an opportunity, which is good. ....

Is it ok to mention that 'after the international break' doesn't mean immediately after, it just means not before. So it could be months.

Yes of course. The half empty view but Hughton and other sources indicate that Izquierdo will be training within days. So if it takes him months to get match fit then i think we'd have a right to be frustrated.
As for Andone then likewise although Hughton still hasn't said much more about his injury and recovery than he's not "available" so i'd be more cautious there.
And i don't think when Hughton said "after the international break" - he really meant "Christmas". Otherwise he'd have said "Christmas"

Don't forget that Hughton may be a devious word spinner and he didn't actually say which international break [emoji38]ol:

If he didn't mean this one, then he'll have me to answer to, because he should have said 'an' international break, not 'the'.
