CH “no fresh injuries”
Confirmed Ryan off to Asian Cup (Thursday ) - final is on Feb 1st so could be 6 weeks out.
No change on Izquierdo/Ali J injuries - Jose out, Ali J also off to Asia Cup (if fit)
Dunk available for Everton again post suspension.

The mystery continues. I think end of January earliest based on fact he hasn’t put a single social media post about him in the gym or whatever which he has always done before.

A couple of queries.
Why is Ali J still being reported as injured, he's joined up with Iran for the Asia Cup hasn't he?
Why hasn't Ben White been on the bench while Duffy or Dunk have been suspended?

Ali J is in the Iran squad and its been confirmed he's joined them although whether his hamstring injury is completely cleared up is unclear. Hughton said this pre Xmas
""We've liased long and hard with their medical staff and he's at a stage where we're happy for him to go. If that wasn't the case, we would keep him for longer before he went. But it's international football and ultimately they have the right to take him and assess him."

Ben White isn't injured so presumably hasn't appeared for tactical reasons. I guess Bernardo would have moved to centre half if any injuries and Bruno has also played there.

He still has "knee trouble" after being injured during the Palace game but isn't in training. Hughton didn't , afaik, offered up an estimated return in this mornings press conferences. His last social media post on Insta was from a London restaurant with his family pre-Xmas.

Optimism that he'll recover during the tournament.
Same with Mooy and Australia.
He was meant to be sidelined for 6 weeks, but a couple of physios flew over to the UK and assessed it as a likely 3 week recovery period, so have included him in the squad.
On Christmas eve he posted a pic on his instagram Story, taken out of the window of a plane, and tagged it as 'Barcelona'.

More from CH on Izquierdo [knee] from yesterdays press conference held back til today by Argus.
"It's the same injury [that he picked up at the World Cup], but he is in a decent place at the moment which is good.
"All we've got to make sure to do is the process. We are mindful of not pushing him too quickly.
"What we want to do is make sure we get him right so that when he is back playing he can have a longer period of being fit."
Argus adds "It is also doubtful whether he will make the squad for Wednesday's trip to West Ham"

It's a quick turnaround and come tomorrow morning I will have decided on my team. The only under-23 player involved is Viktor Gyokeres - he'll be the only one in the squad this weekend."
