Is Montoya injured or dropped?

No idea. Bruno missed the 18 v Spurs but was fit . Especially after international break when Stephens and Gross are back, then every week familiar players, who are fit, aren’t going to make it. Won’t stop people saying there’s something wrong on here mind !

West Ham team / injury update

- Andone makes 2nd appearance on bench since recovery
- no return yet for Izquierdo who was “available”
- Stephens, despite reputed late checks, didn’t make it.

Sorry . Of course tonight saw return of Izquierdo. Missed him initially when I scanned the subs.

Assuming Pröpper not too serious - could see a fully fit squad for Newcastle for first time this season.

Injury update post West Ham

Pröpper [ankle] - left Amex/post West Ham on crutches.

Montoya - absent from West Ham due to unspecified injury

Stephens [hamstring] - “close” but not fit for West Ham

Gross [ankle] - recovery “longer than expected” - hopefully ok for Newcastle

Propper: The ankle injury sustained by Propper against West Ham will sideline him from international duty with the Dutch and he is already a big doubt for the trip to Newcastle.

Injury update post West Ham

Pröpper [ankle] - left Amex/post West Ham on crutches, missing Dutch international matches, "big doubt" for Newcastle (The Argus)

Montoya - absent from West Ham due to unspecified injury.

Stephens [hamstring] - "could be fit" for Newcastle [the argus]

Gross [ankle] - recovery “longer than expected” [Hughton]- "could be fit" for Newcastle [the argus]

Ryan [unspecified minor injury] - missing Oz international training camp to help “manage” this. Hasn’t prevented him playing this season.

Montoya update

The Argus reported that he had missed Friday due to an injury.
Oddly they have a piece about the back four this morning and don't mention it. Bruno says "“We are really happy with [Montoya] and it doesn’t mean anything that he didn’t play on Friday." Perhaps it was just tactical.

That certainly was the impression that at least one of Hughton and Bruno gave in that interview they did with Sky after West Ham (which is on Player).

Official site has Propper playing for Holland. Thought he was injured?

He is. He dropped out of the Netherlands squad post West Ham due to his foot injury.

Looking at the training pictures on official site(Thursday). No Gross/Propper/Stephens involved. Everyone else is there. Murray isn't but he might have a different routing due to his age.

I believe he gets a visit from some local schoolchildren and their golden retriever called Flossie. Very therapeutic as he sits in his favourite armchair in the conservatory with a hand knitted rug over his knees and mug of Horlicks with fellow residents Alf and Edna from Upper Beeding.
