Shame...

The market is obviously still fresh but some bizarre names in the running with the bookies: Giggs early favourite at 3/1, with Roberto Mancini and Sean Dyche at 6s and Brendan Rodgers and Ronald Koeman at 8s... surely Giggs is the only one of those that would be interested in taking the job?

Dyche. That's hilarious.

He's done well there. 9th, 9th, 13th. Some fans don't know when they have it good.

Still, we've already seen that with Hughton.

Houghton a favourite apparently

Not according to Oddschecker. only quoted by two bookies and at 33/1.

Bookies know feck all anyway. Not until late in the game.

Nigel Clough.

I think he's certainly worth a go. Plenty of experience but still relatively young and OK, Derby didn't work out for him but very few managers do well there because they have such high expectations. Gary Rowett is good but he's achieved nothing yet. On a limited budget, Clough's performed miracles by keeping Burton Albion (another Staffordshire club) in the Championship. I wouldn't be surprised if he's at least approached. Keeping Stoke safe and playing some good football at times might be what that club is looking for. It would be good to have another English manager in the Premier League as well.

And no, I haven't been drinking or smoking ganja. :)
