He will set up to be solid.
How much we go for it will depend on he Cardiff result.

If They've won we will have to go for the win.
If not a draw will be first priority
One issue is that he won't know the Cardiff result until 40 minutes from kick-off, but the preparation for our game will start today.

What I think has cost us is being hit on the break when we're out of shape, so my guess is that we'll try either cautiously attacking, while trying to retain shape, or hitting them on the break (and again, trying to retain our shape). I think we'll do that regardless of the Cardiff score, with the only difference being later in the second half, where we'll have to start attacking in greater numbers if Cardiff won and we're not ahead.

Would prefer to see him go in the summer but if your chosen scenario happened then fair enough.

I just think all this bleating and moaning about him now is pointless. We know what we are , we know what CH is. We can piss our pants in the summer but for now we have to get behind the team and get some momentum amongst us to rally the boys. They've shown the last 2 games they are fighting. Least we can do is do the same rather than everyone bitching about CH like girls.

That can come later.

Saturday is what its all about

Fair do's , but bitching on here can give us all an outlet , which is far less harmful then booing the team and manager during the actual match.:tantrum::lolol:
P.S.I don't think Cardiff will beat Fulham.

Some people need to get a grip on reality , the Albion are currently bottom 8 material and have been all season just like the last season. Changing manager wont change the fact we are where we are , bottom 8 and its only by steadily building season upon season will we move up from bottom 8 to mid table.
OK so not everyone likes the pragmatic approach but the fact is had we not been pragmatic for the last two seasons we would have been relegated last season and certainly this but we still have a little hope of survival which all the experts say is tougher in the second season in the prem.
Like them or loath them Burnley are a good example of needing to be hard to beat first before you can get a bit more expansive & even then they have suffered a hard season this year because they did not get the basics right first.
We dont have the finances of a country behind us , we cant just spend hundreds of millions on top internationals to sit on the bench like Man City can , we have to look for bargains & hidden talents at budget prices and that means being pragmatic on & off the pitch. And no we cant get that right all the time but yes we have had some success with that approach so far & I expect much more to come but only by being in the prem in the first place.
Attacking football is great but look what it did for Fulham this season , you have to get the right balance & at the moment Albion are striving to get the defence right & be hard to beat first so give them a break & stop calling for 'gun-ho' tactics which would be suicide for our prem league future both the immediate & the longer term.
I did not hear anyone calling for CH's head when we were in the championship or accuse him of negative tactics then despite the fact we have played exactly the same every year he has been the manager so please take off the blue & white tinted success coloured glasses & get a grip we have stepped up a division but have yet to catch up the quality in the squad needed to be an expansive side.

Let’s face it we can’t even pass the ball anymore total shit anti football. A manager that players a striker week in week out because he can defend a set piece, never scores from one anymore. He then subbed our most attacking threat last night for some bizarre ****ing reason and guess what we concede a ****ing goal, F of Hughton.

Why does he deserve the chance to be here next season? I just don't understand this.

Hughton has turned us into an embarrassment, the worst team in the PL right now and quite possibly the worst side to watch out of all 92 clubs. He has earned the right to find another club and no more. Football is a cruel mistress sometimes.

Managers sometimes reach a point where the only sensible option is to move on. Hughton crossed that line before Christmas when it was crystal clear that we had become terrible under his leadership.

We need a new coaching team with fresh ideas. Our players are all going to need a course of Prozac over the summer-they must be so low right now.

His approach will no doubt be reflected in the fact that Newcastle have got some serious pace up front.

Again this is bollocks

And one was a threat first half but 2nd half he just wasn't. Maybe spurs worked it out , maybe he tired. The stats when he came off showed we had 0% possession in their 3rd. Murray was put on to change this , hold it up , buy some time , win some free kicks.

Not sure how you can't see that

We were good against Cardiff until they scored and we really should have had a penalty on 10 mins when Dunk was pulled down. So 3 points is possible if we can get some energy in the team so can defend like tonight but also have some cutting edge.

Ryan
Montoya Duffy Dunk Bernardo
Stephens
March Bissouma AK
Murray Andone

I’ve never not enjoyed a season as this can’t wait for it to b over ,always have tossed and turned over the team as they really seem all the same but if I were to pick a team with a chance of scoring let alone winning it’s got to b this

The dull part of the south coast
We won’t win and that’s all there is to it. In fact I might go all out on a limb here and say we won’t score either!!

Let’s get on with relegation, a new manager and a new team. I don’t want to watch this one any longer, it’s embarrassing. We shouldn’t be in the PL, it’s not in our DNA and has been the most hopeless, predictive football to watch (relative to the division) since 97/98. Can’t wait to get back into the Champ and see some entertainment again.

That’s the spirit! If we don’t go down you could pop down to Fratton Park and watch it there, if they get promoted, or watch a bit of Championship-Lite if they don’t. :drink:

Re Hughton's head:
I think the problem is that, bottom eight team or not, we have generally performed poorly against those teams that we should have hoped to defeat. We appear to have regressed from last season after having spent a considerable amount of dosh on players (yes, I know it isn't Man. City type dosh). The players we have bought, have either had a hard time adapting to the Prem, or are not being coached/used properly by the manager or are not up to scratch....or a combination of all three! The football has been grim to watch and C.H.'s tactics are predictable. He has had a 'spot of bother' managing teams in the Prem , previously , and many fans fear he is insufficiently 'noussed up' for the job as a Prem manager. There have been rumours of disquiet amongst the players re his modus operandi. Some of the stats as pointed out by the recent Guardian article are a horror story. One could go on, but suffice to say, the season surely hasn't panned out as well as , I dare say, Tony Bloom would have liked.
The final decision on CH's future will be his, but I for one, would welcome a change of management at the end of the season, regardless of whether we stay up or not, and I think we will squeak in.My reason for this, is that I don't think Hughton has it in him to take this club any further.
However, I will be very surprised if Bloom ditches him.

Wow.

The footballs clearly not been great, but then we are in an almighty scrap. Hughton did EXACTLY the same when he first arrived here - set us up to be hard to beat, playing some dreadful football, and it just about stopped us dropping into League One. It doesn't matter how you get the points by this stage, you just have to get over the line. Yes its been shithouse since the turn of the year, the new signings have not performed, the last 2 home games have been truly gruesome. But that whole inquest is for the summer. Right now its all about salvaging the season and saving ourselves.

I will ALWAYS want to see us playing at the highest level, otherwise whats the point ? The Championship is a great league, but it is still a means to an end - the entire objective is to get OUT of it (going the right way, obvs). I'll still be there regardless what league we're in next August, but the mentality of "lets just go and get relegated so we can win more games next season" is utter bobbins. We'd be winning games just to try to get back to WHERE WE ARE NOW.

The PL is not the be-all and end-all, far from it. But I certainly don't want to see us drop out of it just yet.

Absolutely. Especially the bit about 'getting back to where we are'. If people are just happy to watch entertaining football and don't care about the results: well fair enough, each to their own - but I don't want to end up in League One with Ipswich. (Another team who got bored with their pragmatic manager).. If we get relegated most of us will want to win the games, and I'll let you into a little secret: I've seen crap football and boring games in the Championship as well.

What drivel ... using arguments involving Man City and Fulham, and spending hundreds of millions on top Internationals is little more than trying to shout louder than the next bloke to try and make your point.

So why is Murray shooting form 40 yards then with March to his right and Locadia to his left, he’s meant to be experienced and calm things down.

maybe he thought there was more chance of a goal?

More seriously i was concerned by that but also when both Bernardo and Kayal got forward they just gave up (Bernardo slowed , stopped and was fouled) when they could have just taken it further and into the box. Surely that their footballing instincts should have told them to do...

Hughton’s anti football, not that’s it’s got us anywhere, last season the greyhound was more of a threat on wing than Locadia or the Iranian and he was a full back

Even you must see we have deteriorated this season, last season we weren’t getting hammered at home by the likes of Burnley and Bmuff.
