I reckon we might be looking at something like ....
---------Verbruggen
Veltman Van Hecke Dunk Ferdi
--------Baleba Ayari
-----Minteh Pedro Mitoma
-----------Welbeck
Yep this would be my pick.

Think he might want more experience in midfield and consider ferdi there for this one. But excited about the kids. Would have Hinshelwood for Velts. Pervis at LB if fit. And I love Wellbz but I do wonder if at some point this season when Gruda and Enciso are firing, one of them might start with Pedro up top. What a terrifying attack that is.Yep this would be my pick.
Any mention of Gruda? I've heard suggestions that he's not considered "PL ready" yet even when fit.
Just thnking the same. What. A. Bench! What a time to be alive!
I think Weiffer and O'Riley would have played all the minutes available if not for injury. Minteh is a solid firt temer already. Ferdi would have been straight in if he hadn't had a knock I suspect. So whilst your analysis is right (I made it 6 minutes until O'Riley got injured), I'm not sure your conclusions is quite there.A lot of the comments I've seen and heard about our start to the season have specifically mentioned that we have taken a new approach over the summer and brought in a lot of new players. It will certainly be good to see Weiffer, Kadioglu, O'Riley etc. However, in the four games we've played, ignoring added on time we've had 3960 (90 x 11 x 4) minutes of playing time shared between 29 players. We've spent over €230 million on 9 new signings. We won our cup match and sit third in the league unbeaten in all competitions. Yet, new signings have played only 325 minutes. (Minteh 207, Weiffer 90, Rutter 19, O'Riley 9).
Three of the nine new signings have actually been sent out on loan, along with one of the two signings we made in January. (The other's in the U21s). They are among the 12 players out on loan. Transfermarkt's (usually wildly inaccurate) player valautions suggest that this amounts to an estimated €75m worth of talent out on loan https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bri...e/verein/1237/plus/0?saison_id=2024&leihe=ist. These twelve are all between the ages of 18 & 24.
With over 90% of playing time so far taken by players who were already part of the squad, and quite a few on the usual development path it seems that, after all the head scratching during the summer, the new Viv Nicholson approach may actually just be the old Tony Bloom approach tweaked slightly to allow higher investment per deal in the young players we have always brought in. Even having spent 200 million quid, we still seem to be mainly shopping for the next couple of windows rather than for this one.
I suggested he be dropped in another thread but you are 100% right and I am a fool.I'm not belittling the tough selection decisions which the manager and the wannabe managers such as myself and the others naming teams on this thread have to consider.
But I'm very surprised by the number of people dropping Veltman. I just think as long as there is a game called football, teams will need plenty of what Joel brings to the pitch. In my mind, whilst he's playing like this, he starts.
I was checking out their fans thoughts and most of them seem quite pessimistic. I'm not so sure. We are still finding our feet really under a new coach. And while we do have some weapons of mass destruction, I don't think we can take anything for granted.Impressed by his respectful assessment of how Ispwich will play and the challenge they will present. I hope we are more up for these sort of matches than we have been in the past.
I love Joel but I'm also a hopeless romantic. And want tons of rapid kids bombing forward like they're playing on a playground.I'm not belittling the tough selection decisions which the manager and the wannabe managers such as myself and the others naming teams on this thread have to consider.

I get it mate. It's tough. And we all want to see our main (I think) summer signing start in his best position. Very good players won't even make matchday squads let alone the first team in our new realityI suggested he be dropped in another thread but you are 100% right and I am a fool.
Yeah this.I'm not belittling the tough selection decisions which the manager and the wannabe managers such as myself and the others naming teams on this thread have to consider.

Possibly difficult to arrange since he arrived injuredIf that’s the case wouldn’t he of been loaned out?
I want him in the first XI but as a RCB rather than a RWB.I'm not belittling the tough selection decisions which the manager and the wannabe managers such as myself and the others naming teams on this thread have to consider.

I had a solid firt temer this morning that almost wouldn't flush. I'm a bit surprised you would call Minteh that, I think he has been pretty good so far.I think Weiffer and O'Riley would have played all the minutes available if not for injury. Minteh is a solid firt temer already. Ferdi would have been straight in if he hadn't had a knock I suspect. So whilst your analysis is right (I made it 6 minutes until O'Riley got injured), I'm not sure your conclusions is quite there.
O'Riley did only play six before he was injured, but was on the pitch for nine. He spent a third of his playing time having treatment. You're right about Weiffer, O'Riley and Kadioglu, but I don't think that this is suggestive of a change of approach. It's always been flexible and we've always tried to fill gaps where necessary, e.g. Pervis for Cucurella. O'Riley's doing the same for Gross and Weiffer is, in some ways, a correction of the Dahoud mistake.I think Weiffer and O'Riley would have played all the minutes available if not for injury. Yes. You said it better than I did, but I read your post too late.To a certain extent yes, but the likes of Weiffer, Kadioglu and O'Riley are a different quality and age profile to our usual transfers.
They were specifically brought in to replace gaps in the first team., with minimal development needed.
We've done that before of course. (Estupinan, Igor), but this feels different.
We seem to also be targetting a higher level of youngster, who have already proven themselves in top-tier European leagues.
Overall we seem to be looking to develop our signings to a higher level than would previously have been the case.
Less as a profit making endeavour and more to strengthen our squad.
