I still haven't managed to watch us at all this season, but one thing I have noticed about Bruno's game in the highlights is the way he floats through balls down the right. The way he places them is absolutely incredible. Example is when he set up Rosenoir for the cross that Hemed missed in the first half on Saturday.

Anyone who can't see this obviously didn't go to Walsall where the defence was all at sea w/o GG. Thank f*ck these people don't pick the team.

The whole back 4 changed that night.

I was going to start a thread yesterday about the number of good blokes that we seem to have in the squad now - the complete opposites to the Leon Bests and Kemy Agustiens of this world.

We all love Calde, obviously, but the likes of Bruno, Stockdale, Kayal and Rosenior are all very likeable people, I think, and I was going to put Huenemeier on my list too.

Apparently almost all of the squad are starting to see that the only way to succeed is to put in the work and the effort on the training ground. And the one who really puts in the extra graft more than anyone is Hemed who stays around and does a lot of work in training even after a lot of the others have finished up

THIS, THIS THIS!!!!!

Can you make that a sticky? Seriously, our back four have been EXCELLENT all season. Bong and Uwe have fitted right in but Greer and Bruno have been excellent. The pace of Bong and positioning / general death defying blocking of Uwe allow us to defend higher up, Bruno is setting up all sorts of plays down the right as well as winning crucial challenges and Greer is holding it all together and playing better than he has since he joined us. Why change that?

To be fair, at the end of last season and over the summer, many of us felt that the time had come to start phasing out our ageing defenders, Bruno, Calde and Greer. I thought that, anyway - and no doubt that time will come at some point, inevitably.
But the way that Bruno and Greer have started this season with their 'No way, Jose - not yet anyway!' message is entirely to their credit - and to CH's credit too, for getting it right. I wonder if young Goldson thought the same - didn't he turn down a previous move because he didn't want to go and be third or fourth choice?

This is an interesting dilemma. Goldson seems to have been bought with next season in mind rather than this. That was based on Greer leaving at the end of his contract. That would move Uwe up to skipper, Dunk alongside him and Goldson battling for one of those two spots as next cab off the rank. Greer is currently playing well enough to earn a contract extension which would scupper that theory. Addtionally - and yes I am WAY ahead of myself, but let's dream - if we go up I suspect that whole plan would be revised anyway.

Glodson and Dunk will get games. Centre backs get suspended. Centre backs get head injuries. But right now I wouldn't change a thing.

Worthing
I led the questioning on this and have to say for some reason stuttered like a nincompoop at first .

My IPad locked and I couldn't refer to my notes.

What do mean "like a nincompoop" ?

I tell you what really, really grates with me. People still trying to gently ease Greer out of the side despite him playing a pivotal role, once again, in a very miserly defence. I really don't get it.

Could it be that after last season's disappointing showing, by both team and individual players, that many thought Greer had reached his sell-by date. I'm glad that he's proved, so far, those doubters wrong.

I think it's more that people are starting to recognise that his shelf life limit is getting nearer. Nobody can say he doesn't add value surely, but he is slowing, he will increasingly become more exposed.

Bruno is technically the best player in our team imo. His crosses, passing and intricate wing play are a joy to watch when he's on song.
