Just got a Wildfire today and have to say so far very impressed with it, although it is my first smartphone so it's all new shinies to me :)

Well a) That phone won't be released for at least another 2 weeks, b) the article you link to has no comparison stats for either the HTC Desire S or Desire HD and c) the Galaxy S2, although powerful, has a crappy UI, tries too hard to look like an iPhone 4 and is made of cheapo plastic.

a) worth waiting for. b) google some. c) have never heard Android Open Source described as crappy, it looks better than the iphone and the cheapo plastic is actually indestructible corn from the cob, better known to some as maize. Be amazed.

Its not core untainted Android though. Only the Nexus phones can boast that. It is generally considered that the best skin customisation on top of the Android OS is HTC Sense.

Don't get me wrong, I've no doubt the Galaxy S2 will be a great phone but there's no point coming on here slating the very best phones on the market right now based on a handset you've not actually used yet, have you?

Question on Desire HD GPS to current owners if I may. Can you download maps and use the GPS 'off-line' to avoid data charges? If so what maps are available and do you have to pay for them? Oh and lastly if using off-line do you get turn-by-turn navigation?

Thanks muchly...
