I am on Nsc from my desire (not hd) as I type and it is fantastic.

I am too I have never had a HTC before so was a little unsure when the opportunity came up to get one I have always stuck with Nokia due to ease of use but boy have I been missing out!

I have a Desire as well. Great phone apart from the battery life.

'Better' is subjective IMO, the iPhone and the Desire family both have pros and cons so it depends what's more important to you - having said that the Desire HD is a seriously impressive bit of kit.

Got the desire hd. Brilliant phone. Does have a tendency to turn itself off every now and then... apparently the battery comes loose. Doesn't fit perfectly. If you can overcome this snag, its a great phone though!

I've had mine since November and this has NEVER happened.

Go into settings and tweak around with stuff. You can adjust the screen brightness and turn stuff off to squeeze some extra life out of the battery.

Also, get an 'eco' charger that turns itself off when the phone is charged. This will help.

I've got a wildfire, used to love it but now despise it, too slow and small for me, should never have got rid of my 3g. Not sure whether to get the Desire HD or another iphone.

Got the desire in Jan ...
Well 'appy

IPhone is way too overrated - might be good, but HTC is equal or better IMHO

Edit: No issue with loose battery / unexpected switch-off either - take it back as that's a warrenty fault
