We will pollute the planet to the point where we cannot live on it any more, die out an in 50,000 years the planet will recover perfectly without us on it.

Reckon we have less than 200 years before this happens.

A collapse or sabotage of the financial system thus leading to mankind in reverting to survival of the strongest .
That's more the 'end of civilisation as we know it' though rather than the end of humanity itself. It would be more of a 'readjustment', humans would still be around, just in more manageable and sustainable numbers. Ditto if the icecaps melt and most of us drown.

You could be on the right lines though, if the world's population does get up to 10 billion quite quickly (which is what some have predicted) then it will be an interesting struggle between Mother Nature doing her level best to save the planet by culling humans via disease, pestilence and famine (plus us helping her by killing ourselves via war), and human ingenuity trying to cram even more people into the world.

Back in the 1970s though this question only had one popular answer: MAD, Mutually Assured (nuclear) Destruction. Everybody would fire their missiles and drop their bombs and the entire planet would be turned into a blasted, contaminated rock. This would be the end of everything, not just humanity. Personally I don't think the risk of that end has disappeared completely.

The mention of Trinity there reminded me of the killer force of the cockjugglingthundercunt. We mustn't rule out that as a possible panhandledemic assassin.
