If I could just come over all biblical for a second "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall" or be nice to people on the way up as you well be passing them again on the way down!
Can I please call for an immediate ban on responding to a post with the word "this". It pisses me off and shows their isn't a brain cell between their ears. Try, yes, no or any other response but "this" you know who you are please stop it, it's feckin annoying. Rant over

I suppose in regards to what I was saying dosn't matter that much !
The important fact is that supporters of BHAFC are no different from the supporters of ***FC. They are all supporters of their particular FC and, irrespective of how their club got into difficulties, we should sympathise with them as indeed many supporters of other clubs did with us. I believe that we should not therefore take the piss and call them rubbish as they could easily have done to us. They supported us in our time of need and therefore I don't think it right that we should rubbish them, especially clubs who supported us. To take the piss at the expense of other clubs who may be enduring similar if not identical circumstances to those which we have endured seems wrong to me - sorry if no-one agrees with that. It's why I suggested that, on 6 August, we should be going round with a banner which states 'Thanks Donny for your support'
It was a long time ago so perhaps I was going a bit over the top !

I tend to take it on a club by club basis as to whether a club gets my sympathies for mismanagement. A club like plymouth, who sell their players to pay their tax bills, and who appear to have got by, rather than excelled and enjoyed success get my sympathies. Clubs like Portsmouth, who get to the premier league, qualify for europe, enjoy the ride without any concern for how it came, even defending how it came, screw over the inland revenue, and local businesses, and then, when they come out of administration start breaking their own wage structure to sign players, while simultaneously refusing to play their own players because it would force them to sign them to new contracts because they "can't afford it" do not get my sympathies.
As far as bragging about our success, I think there is a line. We can and should enjoy our success, and we shouldn't begrudge others who do. The banter between fans who are on top one season, struggling the next is part and parcel of football. But, there comes a point where it stops being banter and becomes one-sided and arrogant, but where the line is depends on who is involved in the banter and the tone etc.
so to summarise - stop being cocky twats or we will end up being hated
There appears to have been, from a long way back, some considerable degree of understanding and indeed support, for supporters of clubs failing(possibly due to mismanagement) OR subject to the dealings of a board not necessarily totally inclined towards the footballing aspect of 'things'.
I find it hard to understand that anyone here could say anything contravening that viewpoint considering that our club was itself subject to that sort of ‘skulduggery’ , a situation to which supporters of many other clubs rallied to our cause.
I do seriously hope that we, as supporters of our club, will not ever fail to recognise that and will never ever cause us to end up as the reviled club, supporters with short memories thereby creating a stigma for our club.
Perhaps we should be a tad more humble.
