The Everton pen cancels out the disallowed goal against WHU.

There was also a disallowed goal against Burnley wasn't there? (Burn Foul). which VAR decision n our favour cancelled those two points out?

I'm not bettingexpert.com so can't answer your questions.

It was a general question to NSC.

Without var, we would not have had the penalty against Everton, so how is there no difference? At best, we would have got a draw, at worst a loss. :ffsparr:

Because it's about accumulation over games and not concentrating on one?

The West Ham game VAR cancels out the Everton game VAR.

VAR in the Southampton and Villa games didn't change the results.

Problem is you can’t predict what would of then happened in each game. VAR can also change momentum in games which may not have happened without the intervention. Don’t think the table really can reflect it as it’s only based on a actual decision in the game not how it affects the game overall

What it does show is that the 'big six' are not getting favourable treatment.

You can't make any definitive conclusions on the results of games without VAR.

If one side doesn't have their goal taken away that doesn't mean the oppo that benefited wouldn't have pushed harder for a leveling or winning goal without the VAR decision.

what is the point of this? its meaningless as games would have progressed differently. I saw a table based on positions if shots that hit the woodwork went in, we could have a table based on how it would look if every shot went in, or numerous other scenarios, all as pointless as each other

Indeed. Stats for the sake of stats. Completely irrelevant.

The point is to show people who are interested in debating this sort of thing, that VAR has influenced the table to this degree, all other things being equal.

It’s just a thought experiment. I’m not sure why people get so irate (not saying you are Nick), about these pointless debates.

I've been trying to keep track of the VAR decisions. I'm aware all goals are reviewed as process. As are all incidents that could be a red card or a penalty. I suspect all card decisions are also reviewed to ensure the correct player is being penalised. I've not bothered to note all of them, just the ones that result in something notable happening, and so far, I'm pretty much in agreement it's a wash. I mean, it's arguable that if the lino wasn't under instruction not to flag tight decisions, he may have correctly flagged in the West Ham game and without VAR the offside would have been given. It can also be argued the Everton penalty was a turning point and without it we wouldn't have got the third goal.

Game Goals Other Without VAR Points different in the unlikely event absolutely everything else in the game remained the same, without VAR
v Watford (a) No impact Claim for handball against us reviewed, not given. No change 0
v West Ham (h) One goal (for) disallowed Offside clear enough to have been caught, did the assistant not flag because instructed not to (would he have flagged if no VAR)? 0/-2
v Southampton (h) One goal (for) disallowed Only one goal chalked off, lost by two. 0
v Man City (a) No impact No change 0
v Burnley (h) No impact No change 0
v Newcastle (a) No impact Alzate went down by goalkeeper, no pen given, review conirms No change 0
v Chelsea (a) No impact Penalty No change 0
v Tottenham (h) No impact No change 0
v Aston Villa (a) One goal (against) disallowed Lost anyway 0
v Everton (h) One goal (for) not given (flag was up for offside anyway) Connelly seemingly slipped, review gave penalty 2-1 down. The penalty saw a swing in momentum in our favour, definitely drew us level, could have been the key moment that led to our win +2
v Norwich (h) No impact Goalmouth scramble ended with a foul by Maupay, check for red- not given No change 0
