I got as far as....

They aren't made of anything, it's more a question of what they really are. It's where whatever it is that's causing the shadow is blocking the light from the sun causing a dark spot behind it where the light can't get to properly.

Exactly, they are made of lack-of-light 👍

You can't "see" a shadow in the same way you can't "see" light. You only see what it light bounces off. You just see what the light can't get to.

i can "see " a shadow otherwise how would we know they are there what you are alluding to is a load of physics which just puts a down on the debate. What do you see when you look at the sun or a light bulb that has been switched on?

You can see the source of the light, not the light itself.
