"Lets go to the park?" - Why does the correct one have an apostrophe in lets? I always thought you have one if you are saying 'belongs to' or are shortening from saying '*** is'?

Calculator?! Surely that's cheating! I assumed there were no calculators, so used a bit of paper to bring my long forgotten long division and long multiplication to the table.

It's a shortening of "Let us...." The apostrophe deontes a missing letter (u)...

It clarifies that the brother has been lost for a long time.

Otherwise he would be lost and happen to be long as well.

And the comma comes inside the speech marks because that is correct grammar.
