once again the 4-5-1 midfield gets the result on the road but questions still remain about this formation at home, especially without lualua whose been our main threat from open play when we have used it in home games.

ReaDING THE THREAD on here by a tranmere fan they will be defensive, with that in mind as well i think it's time to restore the murray and forster partnership up front, I'd like to see two wingers also but thatmay be too much to ask.

I really would like to see Forster / Murray start together however this set up of 4-5-1 definitely works so might as well carry on.

4-5-1. There is absolutely no reason to change it. We've seen 4-4-2 for years at home, and whether against Tranmere or Leeds, it hasn't worked.

Got to try and start being positive at home. 4-5-1 simply doesn't work (notice how all our goals against Brentford came when we had 2 strikers on the pitch). We looked very average when we were 4-5-1.

we looked much more lively against Brentford when we changed to 442, even more so when forster was on. other than Lualua individual skill we don't seem to create that much in this formation in open play.

Would have said 4-5-1 without hesitation if we still had LuaLua available, not so sure it works quite as well with Carole on the left.

Thanks Greens :(

We have previously played 4-4-2 with different personnel tbh. I think with the players we have now, we can 'risk' 4-4-2 at home and flourish

If they play 4-5-1, I suggest we play 1-5-4.

you're right of course........................

.......we scored yesterday when Carole crossed from the right

:clap2:

just a question but why are people opposed to a WINNING formula?

PS - I'm voting for 4-3-3

2-3-5 would be beautiful

I always thought the W-M formation (or 3-2-2-3) was marvellous too.

What players would you pick for 2-3-5?

We created chances first half against Brentford playing 4-5-1, we created chances against Colchester and Swindon playing 4-5-1 and dramatically reduced the number of chances the opposition had against us while we played this formation.

I would like to see us playing more attacking football at home (4-4-2 with 2 wingers) but a) this hasn't worked very well for us the last 2 or 3 seasons so will it suddenly start to work now? and b) I think we should get safe first before we experiment by change a formation that is working so i think sticking to 4-5-1 for now is the way to go. We are 7 points clear but if the teams at the bottom win and we lose its down to just 4.

Preferably as well as any Albion side ever has, but failing that at least adequately enough to secure all three points.
