It’s not but I may well cry if we don’t

My worry is that we are the go to club if a striker hasn’t scored since Noah was a boy or a team are on a long non winning streak. For that reason “we are doomed”

Perhaps we should give the Swiss lads Chance, unknown quantities are always worth a goal... Roy Essandoh anyone?!?

We won’t though, it’ll be Maupay I suspect. I’d play Welbeck and Maupay, we have to be on the front foot, have to.

Nowhere near halfway through the season but these games against teams around us in the table have already assumed massive significance. I am not confident.

It's a good 8. I'll allow a couple of points off the max as a draw wouldn't be completely disastrous.

They can't ALL be 'meh don't matter we'll get to the required points total easy peasy' because you have to start picking points somewhere sometime. And sunday IS that somewhere sometime.

Absolutely. Draws with Fulham, West Brom and Burnley mean we’ve already ‘meh’ed enough of these games. This one, we win. It’s an 8 on the scale for me.

Our style is better-suited to beat teams who may be high in the table.
I fear for us against a side like Sheffield United, especially if we take the game to them with a possession-based approach. This style isn’t effective if you can’t convert. We’d be better off trying to catch them on the break.
I’m not generally a Connolly fan but I would start him tomorrow, ahead of Welbeck. I’m reassured that Sanchez will be in goal and the most dynamite player on the pitch will line up for us.
I digress. It’s an 8 for me. We CAN recover from a defeat but it would be a massive blow in what is a fight against relegation.

Our confidence would drop through the floor if we were the FIRST to lose to them

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst. It's the Albion way

That’s not what I said. A Meh game would be a 1-2 for me. There are no immediate consequences of losing it so it’s not a must win for me. Would be a big boost though

Not a “must win” points-wise but a must win to give the players and fans a bit of confidence!

Fair enough. Tho marking it as a 4 like you did on an earlier post is same as marking it as a meh shirley? ???

Where on earth do you think the points are coming from if they don't come from games like sunday's?

*edit* Excludes Arsenal, they're ALWAYS good for three points

I was quite impressed with Sheff Utd against Man Utd. It was United's pace on the break which they couldn't deal with. McGolderick is quality and they have a decent side save for a fairly shaky keeper. I think they'll be hard to beat.

Usual bonus points from Arsenal obviously [emoji106]

It’s just too early in the season to be close to a ‘must win’ for me. If we had 10 games left and we were where we are relative to the teams below I’d be going for an 8 or a 9 but not now.

Huge game for Sheff Utd too, people forget that...

I think it’s a very important game. But must win? No.

I think we need to define what “must win” means. Are we relegated if we only draw? Of course not, so it is not a must win. Maybe “must not lose”.

Minimum 9. Partly for our own meagre points tally. Mostly to keep them at arms length.
