Riiiight. She mentions him a lot on her blogs. Do you have anything to back your theory up?

I also recall a fans forum since being at the Amex where he explained he spent *a lot* of money for private feeds from the Amex so he didn't miss a game when he was in Aus.

I do but I'm not at liberty to say, that may not be the answer you won't but lets just say it's not a theory. He does get private feeds and in fact we spoke to him about it when we met him in Melbourne a few years ago.
The feeds probably are expensive but with modern technology the cost may not be as expensive as it once was, you only need look at the amount of free streaming sites there are since we moved to The Amex.

Some people on here ....

Surely no-one - really, no-one - is saying that they are anything other than eternally grateful to TB for funding the Amex and the team-building of the past few seasons. And nobody in their right mind (which, admittedly, disqualifies a few) sees recent history as a case of "DK is better than TB" or vice versa. Both did/are doing what they could/can and deserve our respect.

But just because someone is doing their utmost it doesn't mean they can't make mistakes. If we're not in the bottom three through sheer bad luck, then someone somewhere in the club isn't doing their job, and as TB is the man at the top, sorting it is ultimately down to him.

Of course, if he thinks that keeping faith with the present set-up is the way to go, then he has the right to do so. After all, it has worked for Newcastle and West Ham.

I don't think anyone seriously is, however our apparent lack of strategy and 'cheaping out' this season is very frustrating. It seems there is an element of the board believing their own hype around the Amex factor, and a lot of risk taking with player recruitment that has seriously backfired.

Are you being serious with that comment?
Newcastle sacked their D.o.F and West Ham insisted the manager took on Teddy Sherringham.

Apologies for not making myself clear - I was talking about this season. When West Ham were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Sheffield United and then lost at home to Southampton (who hadn't won a league game at that point), Upton Park was calling for Big Sam's head again. Ditto Pardew, Carver and co after the 4-0 defeat at St Mary's the very next weekend.

Admittedly, clubs at the bottom of our division have mostly gone the other way and changed managers ...

The elephant in the room is that Burke is a big cog in the wheel that needs replacing. Really is that simple

Why doesn't Tony see that something is badly wrong on the football side, and act to make changes accordingly ? ???

Just possibly it was delegating the running, on a day-to-day basis, to Barber & Burke where it all went wrong.

Selling our best players and bringing in crap to replace them. Falling attendances (despite Barber STILL artificially inflating them in a somewhat futile attempt to mislead the sponsors and advertisers), losses that are scary already but will pale into insignificance if we get relegated.

We love TB and he would be forgiven (very quickly) if he would just admit he got it wrong and bin those two wastrels.

I wish people would stop crying about attendances. Pretty much every club announces attendances as tickets sold. I really don't know why some have a problem with this

I agree with this upto last sentence. Both Pardew and Big Sam have shown that they are capable of managing winning sides, having a blip and then turning them around.

Hyypia hasn't shown anything of the sort, in his albeit, modest managerial career. In fact, he got the boot from his previous club for not being able to turn around a disastrous set of results.

He'll come to that conclusion eventually after his appointed Yes Men have run out of spin. For now, he could do a lot worse than spend an hour a day perusing NSC. He'd get a far better picture of all aspects of the way the club is being run by his minions, from player recruitment/performance to transport to catering. Very much doubt his periodic Executive Summary covers the half of it.

Brighton / Hove actually
At the end of the day if someone else came in and built the stadium, which already had planning approval, they would be elevated to saint status by the fans.

Bloom clearly put too much faith in Gus running the show, and the first clue was the decision to let Murray go. Many fans, if in Blooms position, might have seen this as a detrimental move when stepping up to the Championship.

Bloom has done it his way, and others would have done things differently. The fallout with Gus and then Oscar is a clear sign that Bloom hasn’t got full control of the situation and we are where we are today because of it.

There has been a catalogue of errors over the years which have been masked over with short term intermediate joy and a shiny stadium. You just have to look at Bournemouth with 12k gates to see that we have got things wrong. I could even be critical of the fact that we didn’t look to Cook, Elphick and Dunk as the long term CB team. Instead we went for a short term solution in Upson because that is what Poyet wanted. Oh how Bournemouth are laughing at us now :lolol:

I think we are all thankful for Bloom stepping in, but he is not perfect or beyond criticism. I would also say he has been a bit naive at times because many of the decisions have come at a costly price.

The club would be up for sale the next day...
