About £37/mth between SE and Southern Water. Two of us in the house during the week but student kids often there at weekends.

Not sure modern showers make much difference - ours pumps water at a furious rate - a decent shower probably uses as much water as a bath. Washing machine and dishwasher used most days and Mrs D likes a long soak in a deep bath a few times a week. Went we became metered bills went down a bit.

Out of interest - how do you ensure the water is safe to drink?

It's very unusual to find any kind of spring water that is considered to be potable these days.

I guess you can't be 100% but the water is almost certainly clean when it gets to our house. Then through a physical pre-filter and a UV filter so in fairness, probably £100 a year on consumables the.

Ours is about £450 a year. In the Thames region so cheaper than most others and have managed to avoid a meter. 4 bed house with 4 of us and a dog
