How much influence does DK have now?

Is he now a figurehead or will he be involved day to day? Will his remit include player transfers, being able to influence team selection ( which some say he's always done) etc etc

Anyone know?

Less than 5% influence. Probably more than 0% though.

He no doubt has some useful contacts.

It was mentioned when DK first left.

I seem to remember that DK will be a figurehead (sort-of like Sir Bobby Charlton at Man Utd). Bloom will not be getting involved as he has a "manager and chief exec to do that" . Instead Dean White will be taking a more active roll in signing targets on behalf of Russel Slade.

(awaits someone to prove otherwise)

It must be really weird and hard to take going from an all powerful dictator to a figurehead, I reckon he'll struggle to adjust personally.

DK's knowledge of the chairmen of other clubs will be infinitely greater than Tony Bloom's. If chatting up another chairman is part of the transfer process, my guess is that DK's services still have a part to play.

I think that one of the issues with people who get to the top in almost any field is that they need a fairly sizeable ego in order to sustain themselves. DK had it in spades and it seems unlikely that Bloom will be any different which means that he will almost certainly eschew any public demonstrations of "assistance" from Knight,
However if he is as shrewd as one would expect he will call on DK behind the scenes for information if not (one suspects) advice, DK will of course be keen to offer every sort of help in terms of "I did/would do it this way" :lolol:

I am sure TB will be enjoying phoning fellow Chairmen and discussing targets and then passing the closure of the sale on to Brown. I really can't see him "losing face" by letting DK in on the act

Be interested to know who Bloom's manager and chief executive are? Anyone know or am I being stupid and that just means an executive already at the club. I heard somewhere that his brother is involved in some way?

It just means Slade and Brown

He'll no doubt have his network of advisors. They won't be on the payroll. Some of them may be poker playing chums.

I think you are being stupid

Chief Executive - Ken Brown

Manager - Russell Slade

I'd be disappointed if Knight's influence was now anything more than peripheral.

why? He is well known in footballing circles and is known to be bloody good at getting deals done and negotiations. Would be a shame to dump all that knowledge and experience

Because he's no longer the chairman, he's no longer in charge and the sooner the new man and his team learn the ropes the better.

If I was, say, Dicker of Stockport I'd want the new chairman or his right-hand man SELLING the Albion to me. I wouldn't want the former chairman doing the deal.

It depends who the Chairman has asked to be placed in that position of responsibility - and that person may or may not be Dick. Who knows?

Besides, the 'team', as you put it, under the new Chairman is pretty much the same as the one under the previous Chairman.
