How much do you think players should earn?

Football is a revenue generating behemoth these days. Players' salaries will never be capped all the while Sky Sports and the others are bidding obscene amounts for TV rights, and clubs are tapping into foreign markets and luring people away from supporting their local teams.

Already said above, but I don't really care what individuals are earning it's whether the club can afford it and are investing enough money in their youth and academy areas to sustain their existence.

Not sure if anyone picked up on this but FFP is being challenged already in the courts. Not sure it applies the championship to be honest or just the UEFA qualification for the Champions League version.

It's being brought by an agent who is using as one of the reasons his belief that FFP will limit his earnings.

For the players. The combined debt of the Premier League stood at (wait for it) 2.4 billion in 2012.

And here is an interesting stat. The money coming into the Premier League was almost double that of the German equivalent, but the Germans made much more profit.

Enough to retire at the end of their career. There are no other jobs in the world where you have to put in as much time and commitment from such young ages.

If players are going to earn lots of money because their career is over a short period, then they should coach for free for the rest of their days. Fat chance!

Ridiculous, of course there are.

Do you honestly think other young sports people, professional dancers, classical musicians put LESS time in than footballers...

... for a career than is likely to pay a fraction of a professional footballer.

So this 'agent' can only ever represent professional footballers, and not, say, actors, musicians, models, politicains, or act as a lobbyist like Max Clifford.

FFP will not limit his earnings, it just means he will have to represent MORE people than he does at present, and work HARDER.
