To be honest Darren, that might be a conservative estimate. I haven't really added all of it up yet, and includes only estimated costs of the one additional flight and four hotel nights we've still to book

I've had to remind my wife that KLM kindly subbed us about £400 in refunds and compensation, so the Ajax trip was actually NOT as expensive as she might have remembered!

Well done, it is not easy.
I have been debt free now for 12 years, and got rid of the mortgage recently.

Now just waiting for the daughter to go to Uni in a few years, but saving the money we would have put on the mortgage away to help her.
