Just been thinking How much it costs to follow The Albion in a season.

3 Season Tickets=£750.00

Programmes=£60.00 ish

Petrol=£250.00

Food(Debatable at Withdean?)=£150.00

£1200.00

And this is only the home games!

Add to that the 15 or so away games I go to,what with train fares,Beer tokens and ticket prices.

Must be looking at £3000.00:eek:

I just can't look at it like that or I would never go.
I have to assess it as each cost comes up.

"Hmm, season ticket, £420, can I afford it?"
Then away games get looked at according to whether I'm skint or not.

Too bloody much - 1.5 x seasons in North Stand, programs etc.

Away games etc - only good thing is train fares are free from previous employer pre-privatisation.

If my missus saw a calculation like that over a season, I think there would be a major falling-out. Best not to think about it really.

I have me season ticket, then go to away games on a 'pay as you go' basis. Can't afford many!:lolol:

Wouldn't like to think, although I have given up on programs now.

I used to just go to the games and come back. Then I started drinking on the way back. Then I was drinking on the way there and the way back. Then I was drinking in the pub before games. Then I started doing this for home games.

It must cost a bloody fortune, and I would never normally drink alcohol at 8am in the morning!

PS Its not just BHA I watch, as being a football junkie I go at least once a season to watch Hull City, Pompey, Forest, West Ham, Brentford with close friends of mine who support those teams!!

£415 for the season ticket.
£5 a game for a prog & dodgy burger. (£115 a season)
£50 a year on bits of merchandise.
£50 a year on two or three extra cup games.

Total = £630 approx - just for home games, not including petrol.
With between 6 and 8 away games a year it probably comes to about £800 or thereabouts.

Even though a couple of weeks salary does'nt sound much, it certainly adds up on top of the mortgage, monthly bills, kids, etc etc etc.

But I'll always pay it as Saturday's would'nt be the same without it !

The amount of money it costs me to watch the Albion pales into insignificance compared to what it costs me trying to get back into the wife's good books after getting home from the game a little worse for wear !!!

It's something that's not worth thinking about - particularly if it's an away game somewhere nice and I have to take Mrs Gwylan to make a weekend of it.

Watching Sussex win championships is much cheaper:)

IF I can shift my season ticket for the games I don't get to then my costs are not so bad!

Approx 6 home games per season: 6x£20 = £120
Travelling to those games: 6x£50 = £300
Food, drink, programme: 6x£10 = £60

Approx 8 away games per season: 8x£18 = £144
Wife usually comes to 4! : 4x£18 = £72
Travelling to away games alone: 4x£50 = £200
Travel & accommodation with wife : 4x100 = £400
Food, drink, programme: 8x£10 = £80

Flying Squad weekend for 2 = £150

Various bits from club shop: £80

TOTAL: Over £1600

:censored: Best keep that fact away from 'er indoors!!

2 x Season tickets etc + away games etc = Loads of money

Same here. I keep saying I'll only keep going as long as there is the money to go (and there always seems to be)

I don't know and I don't want to know. The mrs spends her money on shoes, I spend mine on the footy.

Lots, but I love it. The people I've met following the Albion make it worth every penny.

You realise how much it's worth it when there's nothing to do on a Saturday in the summer and you wish you were going somewhere to watch the Albion.
