Public transport is a bit hit and miss as to whether you can charge up your phone via a power point (I carry plug and cable). I’ve got a fairly recent phone (iphone 12) but notice that power up time is already reducing through operating software upgrades. Not too worried for home matches but issue for longer away days. Any battery pack reviews/recommendations? Compact, easy to use, reasonable storage/price etc

Judging by the reports of bowl movements at Burnley I would expect quite a few to be carrying two phones on them so shouldn’t be an issue

On that, stewarding was also pretty relaxed - plenty taking beer into the stand after half time and some quality weed was evidently being puffed on

With 30k people attending it's a certainty that a few will find that their phone has died before or during the game. What's more, it will happen in all grounds up and down the country. With everything depending on your phone from now on we all need to make sure that they're charged up - this is likely to be even more critical on Saturday as many will be leaving home at lunchtime for a 5.30 ko.

Whilst THPP may not have been entirely serious, I have personally found the imposition of all the additional T&Cs quite onerous. Now I admit to being a bit of a technophobe; I didn't know of the existence of ApplePay or GooglePay until the club introduced these systems. I don't understand how they work.

The introduction of photo id has been a complete PITA for someone who has never held a driving licence and whose passport went out of date decades ago. I have no form of photo id; I've never required it for anything until now. I can't see that all other EPL clubs have introduced photo id for all fans.

Even the "little things" such as taking my rucksack to games (which I have done without any problem for all games since the Amex opened) is just "something else". The banning of my rucksack seems as inexplicable as the bottle top and flask bans.

It just seems to be rules, rules and just in case there aren't enough rules, some more rules. It really does detract from the enjoyment of going to games.

Just out of interest, and to demonstrate just how many rules we now have (and the more rules we have the easier it is to inadvertently overlook some and get refused admission or banned) I looked at the T&Cs for 21/22 ST. Just that one section now contains 87 pages of rules. Those rules are written in "legalise" rather than "cat, mat, bat".

The excitement of going back has certainly been diminished with the introduction of all these additional rules & regs. I know Barber has to earn his corn somehow but is really the best for the fans? Maybe sorting out better public transport links to the ground might be a better focus of his attention.

How are you getting round the photo id issue? I've emailed them about accepting work ID or out of date passport but not heard back. Have they really banned rucksacks?

I really am in two minds about the originator of this thread. and some others on here.

Had this been a one off, I would have thought he was actually being quite funny as it appears to be an obvious fishing trip and look at me thread, but given his other posts over the past few weeks I am starting to think actually think he believes the stuff he writes.

Its a constant stream of negativity and apparently searching through everything and anything to find fault and some negative spin on well, everything.

Here is a simple request from the Club, for people to turn up early to avoid queues. Its very similar to every game I've ever attended, please turn up early, to assist in reducing queues, except they are opening a bit earlier than usual.

The club have seen that the Gov are possible introducing regulations in October that will require EVERY club to have COVID Passport checking in place, and quite sensibly IMO , are making sure that everything is in place to do just that, rather than just hope they don't, and if they do everything will run smoothly (which we all know, it wont).

In common with most people these days, I have an average smart phone, couple years old, and I know pretty much how long the battery lasts. Even with moderate use, I can get a good 14 hours out of a full charge, so lets say I will use it a fair bit more if I turn up early and sitting in my seat for an hour longer than usual, and I refuse to watch whatever is on the screens, chat to who I came with, or the people around me (most of whom are ST holders and I have seen and interacted with for a few years and find the highest battery using apps i can. I would still probably get a good 8-10 hours out of it.

The only way its going to fail is if I do not charge it before I leave home, and I dont have a battery pack with me. Given I know I am going to be there early and slavishly look at facebook, whatsapp, pornhub or whatever, I will make sure I do just that, and have it charged before I leave and if i have any concerns take a battery pack with me

So what is the OP and others real issue here? Are they part of the sheeple that they so rail against, simply opposing any and everything even remotely connected to COVID regardless of whether it actually makes sense to do it simply because they dont want to follow the rules (Quite Ironic really if so, as they are slavishly doing something simply because....well simply because), or is it really as sad as a look at me , I hate everything that in anyway slightly inconveniences me, or doesn't conform to what I think,

Even with the win on Saturday, there are many posts on here that it was a disgrace, Potter out because we COULD have lost (not that we did), despite the very same people complaining last season that we never won those type of games.

I find it all very strange, and quite sad that so many people go out of their way to find fault in everything , its a strange outlook on life that looks for ways to take all the joy out of it. Whatever the rights and wrongs, on Saturday, we can have a full stadium for the first time in nearly two years, watching our team we all supposedly support. Why not go with the attitude of "great, Im off to the Amex, to support my team, with a full house, and all I have to do is leave home a bit earlier than usual"

Agree with you about the bag thing and the flask thing. It's a minor irritation, but an irritation.

The app / passport stuff, to me, just reflects the reality of going to football in a covid world. I trust the club that they are not using my info for nefarious reasons and that their motivations are to keep staff and customers safe. I'd rather go through that than not be able to go

I wish covid hadn't happened and going to football was something you could do spontaneously and without having to plan and prep like when I was a kid, but, hey ho, now we have international class players and decent bogs

You're ahead of my Dad in obviously being able to use a football forum - so presumably have working email, know your way around log ins, and websites .but if then the club have made it clear they are pragmatic for users where phones and iD might be an issue.
He has no driving licence or passport being 84. He has a physical ticket - we requested it from the club and they were fine about it and it was straightforward. A couple of emails and a photo. He just needed his bus pass for that. The club were very helpful, calling me and getting it set up. It arrived over the weekend.
I've also requested from the NHS (it took 10 minutes - you can call 119 and they do it for you/or you do it online) a permanent letter that confirms his vaccination status - which he can use all season avoiding need for NHS app.

The restriction on 'A4 size' has certainly been in place since that time. I suppose if you had a very small rucksack, it shouldn't be a problem. I think the intention is to prevent people turning up with large hiking rucksacks that would not only cause impracticalities in a crowded stadium but could potentially be filled with explosives like the bloke that attempted to enter the Stade de France on that night had.

Not if you are sad enough to use your phone for two or three hours non stop whilst at a football match! My experience at the Amex is that fecking around with a phone connected to 3/4/5G or the internet is way more hassle than it is worth

not an expert but my phone is a 5g phone but the network is not yet enabled all over Perth , once it is maybe the battery will get eaten up much quicker , i have minimal ring tone , zero vibration and energy saving setting , it last all day no problem.

I haven't got one, but did have the previous smart battery cases for iPhone 7.

As with all things Apple, it's a bit pricier than alternatives but also more likely work flawlessly and conveniently.
