Futbology tells me it’s 103 competitive teams and a lot more when you add friendlies. Of the “we’ll never play you again” my five would probably be Darlington, Northwich, Hayes, Barnet and Woking.

Sadly, on the bus to the pub on Saturday the boy and I were looking at our “seen once” list and comparing how different and random some are. Definitely some “will never see again” on there including Hong Kong, New Zealand Women and Hashtag United as well as the likes of Lazio, Atletico Madrid, Nantes and Barcelona.

nowhere near Burgess Hill
Guess you mean live? 99% of the current top 4 divisions and a few of the national leagues + N/S and then a smattering of others. Purely a function of being in my sixties and having been going regularly for approaching 50 years!

(Edit: went away a lot as a youngster - not so much when family and career kicked in).
When you look at the National leagues, I bet it's a lot more than you think. I had a quick glance and I reckon there's about 20 I've seen play us plus others that no longer exist. I think there's only 7 or 8 I haven't seen us play in the FL plus Europe so I'm going for around 115ish.

Superb question on this horrible day.

113 for me

I doubt we will ever play Boston United, Wisbech Town, Tooting and Mitcham, Hayes or Bradford Park Avenue again.

I was going to Halifax but pulled out early. I can only assume you blindly thought it would be on. Still, I've heard it's nice this time of year
Believe me, it was a whole weekend of shittery. My daughter pleaded with me for us to go to Halifax. I said that my car, an old banger, wouldn’t make the journey, so I hired a car for the weekend - ouch! As we live in Southampton an early start was required. Before leaving at 8.00am we checked Ceefax (remember that!) to find that the match had not been postponed so off we went. We were probably halfway up the M1 when I commented that we hadn’t seen any cars or coaches with Albion fans - cue foreboding music.

The true horror of our excursion became apparent as we approached the Shay to find that the f***ing rugby posts were still in situ, and, to be confirmed by a Halifax official that the game was well and truly orf. So back home we went totally and completely pissed off.

I think I found out around 09.00. It wasn't the best of days either for weather. I feel your frustration.

From looking at 11v11 at all the opponents, I THINK I'm probably on 109 or 110 - but honestly some of the ones in the mist of time are little more than assumptions, based on going to 'all' the home games in a given season, rather than remembering ever playing against the team in question.

We were on the train. Watched the Rugby League the night before thinking "it'll never be on" then went and started the journey anyway. Half our lot went to watch Grantham. My mum was born in Grantham so I had insider knowledge on just how DULL it is and therefore returned to Brighton with the Fatty Tax Man and watched a Celtic game in the Edinburgh.

Still better than traipsing round Tescos or cleaning the bath.
