How many s/t holders will the club end up with for season 2015/16?

Don't be sorry. The discount you refer to doesn't apply any more but I can see how the interest on your credit card could be less than the saving you were making. My biggest issue is the lack of Saturday games. I can rarely get to evening matches and TV has meant an increase in midweek matches which, for me, is a complete waste of money on two season tickets costing £1300.

It will be even worse if we get promoted.

18,000 is my prediction.

And those numbers taken on their own, are TREMENDOUS. Another season averaging 20,000+ would be more or less guaranteed.

Edit: this assumes we're not relegated!

Conpletely this. Some of us have become a tad attendance snobby of recent years - and forget the Amex was enlarged by 8-9k or so a few years back...!

Well, it's only since we have been at the Amex that we have had to pay money this far in advance. It has never previously been an issue. Appears clubs are living on the 'never never' and dragging fans into the equation to bale them out.
I used to pay by lump sum in advance whilst at Withdean with the early discount and i doubt i was the only one. It's definitely isn't a new thing since we have moved to the Amex.

There aren't many providers of goods and services that require payment up front without the customers knowing exactly what they are paying for - ie what division, what players, what day of the week etc.

There are other things away from football that may do something similar, for example festivals and gigs can say ....and many more or plus surprise special guest(s)

or you could go to watch the cricket and it is affected by the weather and they bowl a couple of overs and you lose the chance of a refund without seeing a competitive match or any chance of a result

There are cinema passes that you can buy at least an annual subscription to but you don't know what times the showings will be and what films will actually be shown (they don't necessarily show all the big films being released (for example, they advertised Hellboy to death in the trailers prior to its cinema release date and then never even had a single screening for it) so there may be several films you wanted to see coming up in the next year only to find they don't get shown at all or are only on for a week when you are abroad on holiday.

For a relegation dogfight in the second tier around 18000 STH but if we had a half decent side in the second tier, around 23000 STH and a Championship winning side would play to 28000/30000 every week. If we ever had a top flight side again, well, Palace doubled their crowds from 12000 for Cardiff at home to 24000. So if that logic is applied then the Amex is too small for top flight football but that is not on the agenda any time soon anyway. If we went down, still around 18000 and if we hhad a good season then still be getting around 20,000 to 25000 most week, with the odd 30,000 for a popular game despite 3rd tier football.

I'd guess at around 19k, sadly I won't be a part of that figure due to Uni.

Paul Barber must be crossing his fingers that he can announce the ST figure for next season is a smidgeon over 20k.
