Once, Huddersfield away at their old ground, we beat them...possibly something like 3-1...there was snow on the terrace behind the goal and it was empty, their fans left early and pelted us with snowballs, we had nothing to throw back...some bloke threw a punch at me from behind after we left the ground...very brave of him...catching me across the shoulder as I tried to get out of the way.

I narowly avoided half a brick amongst those snowballs

Cracking game though, was indeed 3-1, I think we were 1-0 down. I was studying in Leeds at the time a dragged along my housemates (Man Utd, Everton, Blackburn and Port Vale supporters) they all agreed that we were superb.

Farrington scored

It was Huddersfields ast season at Leeds Road and you could see the McAlpine stadium through the mist - I remember thinking that it would be rather splendid if we could have a ground like that - 1994

I seem to remember Foster scoring with a header from the edge of the box but may be mistaken...was a pity about getting punched as it had been a really good day out until then, nice spot of lunch and a couple of pints in town then a gentle stroll out to the game and three points, thank you very much.

i got off lucky, it was just before the scumbags pulled out their knives so a bruise on my back and a sore shoulder is nothing in comparison.

And you didn't hit him back? It's a case of you not being brave Gully

Shamefully far to often in the 80s when it was all rather fashionable at the time.

I remember you leading ME into an AMBUSH at Oldham and we had to FLEE for our LIVES :angry::angry:

Oh yes - we came back in the van after a mid-morning Disco at Rochdale Bus Station drinking pints of lager with bacardi chasers :laugh:

No it wasn't a case of that, it was a case of 6 against 2, even my rudimentary understanding of maths makes that being seriously outnumbered...we managed to make a tactical withdrawal...if I had punched him back I would probably have ended up on a drip in the West Yorkshire Infirmary.

Who was the brave one?

Got confronted by 200 Chelsea fans on the warpath. After negotiation (i.e. them threatening to do me in), they eventually asked me to join them. I just shrugged.

In the 80's you weren't really an Albion fan if you hadn't mixed it with the pikeys from up the road.

Shocking & disgraceful I know, but...."When I was just a little boy, I asked my Mother, what shall I be?........"

And that was by a fellow fan!:D

nearly as bad as what kaney suffered - after some **** thought he would be well cool and show off in front of his friends on the train

one of my mates got punched at a station, AND got pushed down a hill on the same day. although luckily nobody was trying to show off
