How many policemen have been arrested for selling information to journalists ?

As was pointed out by Ian Hislop, bribing a policeman is illegal and the police that sold information should be arrested. Should not Levison be investigating the police and journalists that engaged in this illegal activity, and surely some policemen should be arrested?

Ian Hislop should be given an honour for what he, and Preivate Eye, have been doing recently. Both on this NI hacking issue and more importantly on the Hartnett inspired HMRC back-slapping that has been going with companies like vodafone.

About 9 I believe have been arrested as a result of the ongoing Operation Elveden. Who knows whether they will ultimately be convicted. There are far more probably quaking in their boots but we can only hope that events of the phone hacking and links to the press etc spark a new more transparent era! We can only hope.

Only 9 and it is thought to be a widespread practice up and down the country. As for police prosecuting police, what really is not good enough is the scandal in Cardiff. I want to support the police - I was brought up to do so, but the police have to show willing to uphold the law, and deal with its own otherwise where are we all?
