i passed when was 16 and did a couple of games for southdown rovers till one week they startes calling me a twat for giving a corner instead of a goal kick, so told them to find another ref and walked off the pitch and went home

its not worth it

that is correct ... how long ago did you quit ? you must know a few faces as I am at the stage that you were at when you quit.

I have been on the county lines for one season and I am really enjoying it. parents are the worst thing in football it is a fact.

I past my ref's course a few years back and made class 2 quite quickly.If you have played the game and ref accordingly and understand players and managers frustrations etc it makes the job easier.A ref is there to control the game not take over it.
To often cards are thrown around like confetti in pro and park football.We paid to watch two teams play football yesterday not pay to watch Paul Danson and some refs nowadays take centre stage and love all the attention and I'm sure the abuse.
I do agree about the shortage of refs is a problem but if they are any good and want to get on in the game then they won't have a better opportunity.The last rule always used to be common sense and now they don't get the chance to show any.
