How many of you are sharing a season ticket.?

Yep, I was originally looking to share a ticket with my brother as I'm an Albion fan but living up in Luton - and he's a JCL but excited about watching football at the Amex (he did go to the Goldstone before, but never had any desire to watch at Withdean) and it's also conveniently now on the bus route from his home in Sussex Square. Another brother decided to buy 2 tickets next to us for his Brighton-based company to share with it's employees. Then my Dad decided that he'd just buy 2 tickets for the family to share (possibly about 5 of us, including my 9yr old nephew). So we've now got 4 tickets - seemingly in one of the seagulls in the East Stand.
We did ask the question at the time of purchasing, and the guy who did the presentation happened to be the person selling us the tickets. We explained our intentions and he said that it wont be a problem this season, although there are possible plans to introduce photo ID on tickets in coming seasons. However, he felt at the moment that it might take a bit of time to come in giving the expense - and also the turnstiles would still be swipe/scan entry, so the photo wouldn't necessarily be checked. His opinion was that it's unlikely that people would be turned away if the photo didn't match (on the chance that it was checked in the first place) so long as they knew the details of the season ticket holder.

Two of us I'm the principle and named holder but work prevents me from getting down for midweek games and some weekends too. So it made perfect sense for me to share so another fan could take my seat when I'm not there.

A Jonny Come Lately and derided by many Albion fans who consider that back in the day they single handedly saved the Albion and now the Albion belongs to them and anyone else interfering with their club, shouldn't. However the guy who has put (so far ) about 100 million into the Albion welcomes JCL's as they will help him get his cash back quicker.

Theres no way i can make all the home games due to shift work ,i am not sharing my seat but will pop the matchday ticket up on the ticketless Brighton Exiles thread on nsc soon as i know i cant make it.

Strictly speaking season tickets have always been 'non-transferable'. Seems to me it would be mad for the club to start getting awkward about people sharing a seat... what does it really matter. You've paid for it, so why not? If they did bring in Photo ID, then some sort of system to re-sell your seat online would be essential.

At the presentation , Paul said the club accept the ticket bartering that goes on as do most other clubs i would imagine , however he did mention a directive from the powers that be, they would be installing some form of nationwide ticket to person I.D check ,in the future,that would be a hammer blow for those that share ect and hopefully as you say a more softer approach from clubs is whats needed rather than the thou shall not pass stance.

It will be a bit harder to share a card (which could get lost) and next to impossible to resell on here (no-one is going to give their season ticket card to a stranger!).
How are the club dealing with "troublemakers"? What if someone lends/sells ticket to dodgy guy and then their ticket for the rest of the season gets voided? I'm guessing the leagues are getting more strict with this?
I think a club based ticket exchange (that can be used on the day at the ground too) would work but relies on ticket holders somehow easily informing the club that they can't make the game.

On a related note, this situation is effectively what the Personal Seat Licence was introduced for as, should a person purchase a PSL, they'll effectively own that seat and can give it to whoever they want on a matchday (with the suggestion that whoever was using the seat on any given day would able to confirm the details of the PSL holder).
This'll also be able to be traded as a commodity at a later date based on whatever the market value may be - so you buy it at X currently, but can sell it for an increased amount should we make it into the Premiership - therefore make a profit.

I have 2 season Tickets, clearly we wont be able to make every home game, most certainly not mid week night games because of work, so my 2 will be up for sale (at face value
) on occasions, I am hoping I can find a local couple / individual who will take my tickets off me on a regular basis.

It will be a card system, not paper tickets, so it will be up to the owner to ensure he is happy with who he sells it to, I did ask when i bought mine about this because we live so far away, and I was told that basically if the person you sold / gave the season ticket lost it, there will be a small charge for a replacement (he did say about a tenner but did not know at the time) so what im thinking is i will probably ask for a sort of deposit when i sell my 2 tickets for individual games, there is going to have to be some trust, but I am happy it will work out ok.

It seems likely that in the future the trend will come in that insists season tickets are only for those named on the ticket - a directive along the lines of having to be a member to buy tickets to allow the club to have details of everyone sitting in the stadium. Plus, it will be a decent money spinner for clubs when they can persuade people to accept it as people will be buying seats instead of swapping amongst mates.
It's going to be shit though. I'd imagine about 70 or 80% of people who have a season ticket are unable to make every single game in a season so if you can't give your ticket away it becomes pretty pointless.

Cards can be lent to other people for the game but the club don't hold any responsibility if you can't get the card back. I'd imagine they would cancel the original card and make you pay a fee for a replacement.
Other thing to consider is who you lend it to, the club will do their best to punish the correct person but if they see a trouble maker sitting in a specific seat then they will disable that card for a number of matches. so don't lend your card to idiots and don't swap seats coz someone sitting in your seat may get you a ban
