Having downed a bottle of Red EVERY night at home, for maybe 5 years, up until 2 years ago, I now drink almost never and don't miss it. Not really a concious choice to stop, I just can't be arsed to drink any more. I don't go out very often though, but nothing to do with drinking or not drinking. I had 2 pints last Fri, the previous drink to that was maybe a bottle of beer a month or so before.

I visit a pub on average about once a fortnight throughout the year. However, I have never felt the need to get smashed and can honestly say that I have never been drunk. My younger male relatives cannot understand how I can go to the pub and not get drunk, but for me it's the banter with my mates that I enjoy and drinking is a secondary consideration. In fact it's probably 30 years or more since I had an alcoholic drink as I am quite happy having a well known make of brown fizzy drink.

One or two nights I week I'll drink 4/5 pints or a bottle of wine, so more 'under the influence' than 'drunk'

Up until about 3 years ago it used to be 4/5 times a week id go out and get absolutely mullered. However this led to excruciating stomach problems which i still have to this day so i only do it twice a week now

I used to get drunk far more often than I do now (not big or clever I know). I go out socialising quite a bit for work (lunch with contacts/clients/suppliers, often followed by beers in the evening), which now is once a fortnight rather than 3 times a week previously. I also used to do the whole Friday, Sat, Sun drinking thing too, so at its peak, I was at least squiffy 6 times a week, properly trollied c 3 times per week. I got very bored of it though and also concerned about my liver. Cost was less of a concern as a lot of the drinking was on expenses.

Now I'll have a beer or glass of wine most evenings over dinner with the missus and out to the pub about once a weekend for 5 or 6 pints, but I rarely get drunk these days. Mind you, I do get drunk a lot more quickly now!

Getting drunk is a bit embarrassing isn't it.

The last time I was really quite drunk was on the day of Albions open bus parade. I ended up in the Lanes having a few jars afterwards, then got the bus home but got sidetracked into the local when I got off, and from there it all got a bit hazy. Empty stomach as well, which will always cause a problem on top of a skinful, and before I knew it - POP, I was drunk. Felt absolutely shite the next day and didn't think driving would be a good idea, so I called work, booked the day off as holiday, and went back to bed till about 11.

Disgraceful really.

In breathalyser terms? Probably every night for the last quarter century (apart from when I got hospitalised with an asthma attack for a couple of days fifteen years ago).

Never. Feels good to be able to say that.

This, overdid it massively at times in my 20's and early 30's, then got completely bored of alcohol, its effects and the drinks culture...so I gradually reduced my intake and finally gave the stuff up about 7 or 8 years ago. Occasionally at first I used to yearn for a decent pint of beer, but that has now subsided, don't think I will ever touch alcohol again and feel pretty comfortable with that decision.

While I was in England? Every night :lolol: Back home now I don't get drunk that often but I do enjoy a pint or 2 after work :) That being said I had 11 pints over the course of an afternoon/evening and wasnt drunk so just casual drinks mostly! Spent a year in Florida making lots of $$ and hardly any bills so was out every other night it seemed getting pissed. Had enough of that...for now

Have something moderate to drink most nights, i.e., beer, wine, or whisky, but I never get drunk.

It takes too long to recover nowadays.

I've now reached that age where the hangover lasts longer than the night that caused it, so I try never to get too pissed nowadays. Last serious drunkeness was the day of the Warsaw away game when we got the title. Started drinking about 1130 on the train to Brum and have absolutely no idea what time I stopped or got home. Felt like a pile of crap the whole of the day after though.

Yup 24 hours to recover is now normal for me, sometimes longer if it was a real big night out.

Don't drink during the week at home, apart from maybe a beer or 2 on a Friday night / Sunday evening. Occasional work events mean a bit of a session, or lunch with clients, but that is probably only 2 or 3 times a quarter. Then socially with mates, is probably another 3-4 times a quarter, maybe a bit more in the summer months!

However, when I go away with mates, its usually messy and will be mostly pissed.

Don't know how people go out so much during the week (did that between 17-21) but now would rather have a decent dinner at home and chill out (I'm only 26), then go out down the pub.
