I feel like we might be at the mercy of external events. I suspect we’d be in the market for Palmer (or McAtee) if Man C are prepared to let one leave, and likewise I wonder if tonight’s Copa Libertadores match will determine whether Barco moves. Feels a bit like Darwin Nunez - Barber has always said there’s money there if a ‘special’ player becomes available and suspect these would fall in that category.

I’m also holding out hope that things might be quietly progressing with Diaz but if they are, it’s very quietly!

As much as we need a little bit of strengthening, I'm not sure we'll get anyone else in.

If we do, I reckon it'll be Eiran Cashin (Derby left-footed CB) and/or Cole Palmer/James McAtee (City allegedly prepared to let one leave permanently)

Feels a bit late in the window to get either of the South American players in

Surely you mean LB , we only have 1 of those, where as we have 4 that can play RB

Igor can play left back.

"Julio’s best position is as a left-sided centre-back but he can also play at left-back if needed," says an Italian journo. https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/3608199

Don't buy the Naylor 'odds against' line as I think we need two, a full back and cover for Enciso.

"Can" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

If we apply it to left back then Igor, Milner, and March 'can' play left back.
I see it the same way.

My guess is that if Pervis was injured (god forbid) Milner would primarily be the replacement. But he's not going to be 90 mins twice a week through the winter

Next in line I think would be Lamptey. But he's not going to play 90 mins at all for a good while I suspect

After this I think the next in line would be March, (who is at least reliable fitness wise) and push Adingra into the forward line.

After that it would be Igor

It all screams of muddling through. But I do accept the point that it's hard to buy a quality player as an understudy left back. Ideally you'd have someone from the youth ranks close to the first team, but I don't think we have that

Prior to Enciso's injury, I thought 1 signing for the first team squad.
With Baleba now confirmed I reckon there might be another to bolster the squad to cover Enciso. Not necessarily like-for-like and hopefully someone at home along the right side at RB/RWB and on the wing.
