square was where there was a good sized square and you passed it to each other but you were only allowed one touch and you had to keep the ball in the square. The rules got vague as to what was a pass and what wasn't. Loads of aggro ensued as I recall.

How did Wembley go then?
The football equivalent of musical chairs.

Everyone against everyone else, with one goalkeeper. Score a goal and you go through to the next round. Last one left is out. Then you start again, until you get the last two for the Wembley final.

ahh...in West Sussex, we called it FA singles. Unless you played as pairs of players and then it was FA doubles.

I'm from west Sussex and we always called it Wembley. Wembley doubles were awesome.

I never went above 300, but nowadays i fear i can't top about 25. Although i can slightly blame that on an endless dizziness and just about 85% feeling in my kicking leg.
I always enjoyed the left foot, right foot, left knee, right knee, left shoulder, right shoulder, header trick. The magic seven, as it's somewhere known.

Respect MB.

In my youth more than 100. As Easy says including plenty of knees - but I also like to get the ball spinning towards me when going from foot to foot. Occasional head, never shoulder, and never back of head. Tried it like - but never mastered it.

I have not kicked a ball properly for a year or so - so probably about 5.

One thing that impresses me is the different ways lads use to get the ball in the air.

its all about the kicking technique, if you can make it 'spin' it is so much easier, as well as the obvious knees being the best technique, and using both feet

we used to be TRAINED into doing them in kids football, must have had a good effect though

did anybody else play 60 SECONDS?

if you were in goal and someone shot miles passed the posts, you used to shout 'PLAY ON' cos you couldn't be arsed to get the ball!

its where you have sicty seconds to score one goal - all against the keeper, and if inside the 6 yard box it had to be a header or volley

if you got the one, you then had sixty seconds to get two, then three etc etc until the time ran out, and the last player to touch the ball became the keeper. you could also get out of goal by catching the ball, which resulted in the player who kicked it going in

classic times - it was basically the more skilled version of headers and volleys
