Were there 7?
I can only remember 6, North, South, 3 East and very far West.

Even that is pushing it. To me there were two main stands, the permanant north (which is still there), the temporary south (which was dismantled when we left), and then the east. and west, behind the respective goals.

I'm seriously struggling to see where that number of stands comes from. Withdean with seven must have been a hell of a lot bigger than I thought.

thre were various configurations of east and west sections, additional to the basic North and South stands, iirc there were two seperate east stands and a west stand at one point, then presumably count away section as separate too.

Define 8 Goldstone. I have watched games there in North, East, South and West, but 8?

I'm guessing

North with old roof
North roofless
North with new roof
West Main stand
West Meccano stand
East
South old pre fire stand
South post fire stand

If so I have also done 8!

Goldstone ALL 7 (not sure where your 8th is): West Stand, Lego Stand, NW terrace, SW terrace, East terrace, South Stand, North Stand
Gillingham NONE
Withdean ALL 6: North, South, East (Pompey cup game), West family stand, West centre, West 'Argus' freebie stand
Amex 6: South, North, ESL, WSL, WS1901, WSU (not ESU)

So 19.

But what about south west and north west terrace.
Then once the fencing went up = North Stand with fencing, East with fencing, etc Also the north east with fencing which was the away corner but was a home area for certain games
South terrace

Hmmm, getting a tad pedantic here me thinks. North stand with or without fencing, it's still the North Stand. Same applies to the East!

Withdean had South Stand, North Stand, North East (originally away stand), a tiny little collection of seats near the police box - technically a stand I suppose, then later the West Stand for away fans, and then another block of about 700-800 seats stuck next to the North East. So 6 'stands' by my count.
