How many Albion fans living in London were successful in getting Spurs tickets?

That's proved that they weren't processed in date order then.

I hand posted mine into the club shop the day they announced details and I got £30 tickets.

Again you are assuming the Post Office delivered 1st class mail the next day.

No it proves nothing because we do not know what date they got there or what date other peoples got there.

My mate posted our application from London on the day they were announced and just got a rejection letter.

As long time season ticket holders (Goldstone, Priestfield, Withdean) it hurts that season ticket holders are not given priority over AMS. I know the arguments etc but given the amount of my hard earned that is pumped into the club, I feel that that loyalty should be repaid.

I'll just have to settle for an afternoon of Hart and Hawes on the radio.

Not Happy:(

No I put the application in the club shop letterbox myself the day they announced the details so I must have been in the 1st 100 or so applications they got.

I can understand you being a bit cheesed off, but when the Albion are playing Leeds and West Ham at home you are guaranteed a ticket and there are plenty of us who would love to be there but accept that you have priority.

I am sure STH's will have priority for the replay against Spurs though.

I actually meant the quote that was on your post rather than your post

I thought they issued £30 tickets first, £25 tickets second and £37 tickets third.

You were an earlier applicant, so you got a better ticket. Or were you hoping for a cheaper ticket?

and anyway, if 10,000 applicants all posted on the first day and all 10,000 were received at the ticket office the next day, there's still gonna be dissapointment ........

Well put

After all, if STH want priority over AMS at away games, would it be acceptable for AMS to have priority over STH at home games? I think not.

Don't want to get into the who's a better fan argument (family commitments mean I'd probably lose as I can't get to northern games in the middle of the week) and I accept that we have fans who can't get to home games due to work, distance, etc and therefore can't be STH's

However, most other clubs give STH's priority on tickets - it is a perk for stumping up large wads of cash to the club for your ticket. It's not just the guarantee of home tickets (but if you didn't then no one would be a STH) but that STH's pre-payment of games many months ahead keeps the club going through the summer.

The AMS scheme has now become so oversubscribed that tickets for the bigger games is becoming a lottery and STH's should get priority. Don't forget, the club make nothing from away league games so those that only go to away games don't put anything back into the club through ticket sales.

There are many season ticket holders and regular away fans who have not got tickets for this game and I'm sure that there are many people who have got tickets who rarley go to Albion games.

I know it is sour grapes but as someone who has put thousands of pounds into the club buying season tickets, surely I should expect some loyalty in return.

I'm off now to get the toys back that I've thrown out of my pram:D

I have a lot of sympathy for the staff at the club and the impact of the financial restrictions on their ability to invest in suitable systems for ticket allocation, but this situation has been running for a long time now (we've had games at West Ham, Grimsby two years ago and Reading 3 years ago to name a few where the some of the most loyal fans have missed out) and Martin Perry has consistently put his head in the sand and said "we can't please everyone, someone is going to miss out". This is true, but is it fair?

The club is keen to have us campaign on everything to do with Falmer (and God knows I've written enough letters, been on enough marches, bought the t-shirt (CD), etc...) and I am happy to support every new action that is required of us, but when the groundswell of opinion on ticket allocation is that they have got it wrong (BADLY), they don't want to know.

I am not satisfied that Martin Perry has tried hard enough or even given any real thought to addressing this problem.

In terms of Grimsby, Reading and West Ham if you applied the day details were announced you would have got a ticket. "Loyal Fans" may have missed these games but organised fans didn't. Spurs is slightly different due to christmas post and the sheer number of applications (although Special delivery post would have guaranteed next day delivery).

With regard to "the groundswell of opinion on ticket allocation is that they have got it wrong (BADLY)" I would like to know what you base this on? There was a poll on NSC recently and when I last checked The most popular option was first come, first served - exactly what the club is doing.

But not that much of a lottery though, in the last four years the only away games I've missed out on that I wanted to go to have been Reading and Bournemouth, and on both occasions it was because I didn't get my application in early enough. I didn't feel cheated by this, and it never occurred to me that my season ticket was anything other than a discounted and guaranteed seat at Withdean.

And no problem getting hold of a Spurs ticket from Guildford either. Made sure I posted my application first class and before the last collection on the day of the announcement.

This could be got around by changing the fact that when you join the AMS it is for life. If the club were to make it a yearly donation, then the situation you have now, where a big game is announched and loads of people who have only been to a few games apply and have the same change of getting tickets as those that have been to every game, or even worse allow others to use their AMS number to get tickets to sell on at a profit.

If this was combined with the same scheme that they have at Leeds where you applied pre-season for away league games it would help to stop a lot of the glory hunters.

I posted Spurs application first thing on Wednesday morning from Cheshunt, just north of the M25, with Ccard details - got a £37 ticket on the 23rd. I posted QPR ticket application at the same time, under separate cover with a cheque, and got that ticket in the post back on the Saturday.

OK, since you asked, I base it on the views of other fans I know, most of whom are STH. The best way to get a true view of what the fans think, would be for the club to carry out a proper survey. A poll on NSC can in no way be representative of all Brighton fans views as there are only 3200 users, of which 500+ will be fans of other clubs and I guess no more than 100 people voted on that poll. Compared with 4000+ STH, it's hardly MORI standards is it?

You're right, organised fans will usually get tickets. I went to all of the games mentioned above (and many more because I'm a loyal fan, blah blah blah... no-one wants to read that crap) and if you read my first post in this thread, you'll see that I applied straight away for this one too, but I was unlucky.

I did not want this thread to be a so-called 'whinge'-fest as I have been able to get a ticket in the home end since I wasn't about to let what I believe to be the inadequacies of the ticket allocation system to stop me going.

Despite all of the above and since this is a forum for considered discussion (occasionally) about issues that concern us all, do you not think that the fans whom you think are whingeing are fans who care passionately about the club and are desparately frustrated that they will be missing one of the biggest games of the last decade?

It is my view that most of these people are fans who have invested much time and money in the club over the last 10 years. They naturally feel aggrieved at what they believe to be an injustice when their support has been a major reason that we still have a team, whilst some 'once or twice a season' fans will be gloryhunting their way to WHL instead.

You may be tired of reading 'moans', but these people have a right to protest. We are all :albion: fans aren't we? I think you should hear them out rather than just dismiss them.
