I think I've sat next to your dog!

He didn't rate Dan Harding much!

Very interesting..and better attendance percentage than I would have thought...sometimes it does seem that there a quite a few empty seats ..are attendances based on people through the turnstile or season/ticket sales?
Have been to all gaves except Bristol Rovers and sometimes wonder why ..but its the Albion and I love them....despite my moaning:D

All Brighton fans that turn up to every game need to praised. Its so rubbish at the Withdean and we've hardly been scoring any goals.
Well done all you loyal home fans.
I live in London, so tend to go to more away games, which means sitting in nice stadiums, with an atmosphere and you can park nearby - to be honest its the easier option.
I'm surprised there aren't more empty seats at home - good work.

what he said. Full respect to those who can and do go to the soulless hole that is Withdean.

The attendances are people through the turnstiles not tickets sold. There have only been three games this season where the home end has not sold out and in each case there were less than 100 tickets left.

Don't forget also that 60 seats are left empty each game for safety purposes.

The Ground will hardly ever be sold out - Anyone that has ever sat in V Block will probably never go back there for a start as you see as much of the game as Ray Charles would.

Away fans as well are once bitten twice shy. Its not a trip I would do more than once as an away fan.

We get more people along when we play League games on Tuesdays (5,943 home supporters on average) than we do on Saturdays (5,772 average).
Unlike Saturday afternoons, I find a trip to Withdean on a Tuesday night just about tolerable. Onto the train at London Bridge with a few friends, half a dozen cans on the way down and either straight to the game or a quick pint at The Railway just behind PP station. And then - more times than not over the past 5 years - rounded off by another routine win and a kip on the train home to London.

Saturday is a total mare by contrast - half the day ripped out by the journey, and the atmosphere's crap when you get there.

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the NSC sponsorship game vs Sunderland - I have a pass to get totally BATTERED in the pub afterwards. :drink:

thats not bad actually, considering how long we've had to put up playing there and how unbelievably shyte it is putting up with it. Well done to all those that still brave it week in week out

I've been once this year- but living in Manchester most of the football season i tend to save my cash for away games.

And some clubs don't return tickets in time for us to sell them to our fans. At least half the matches this season I've been here for, the away stand wasn't sold out.

So why dont our brilliant business men on the board ask away clubs for the money up front on the tickets..like Spurs did..allegedly

Also if a season ticket holder can't make it and can't get rid of their seat, it is still money in the bank for the club.

The weekdays getting more than Saturdays phenomenon surprises me. I have not missed a game this season (Watford on 3rd January will be my first), but I find it very hard to get down from London for evening games, and I am less than 15 minutes' walk from Victoria. One of the things the Civil Service does give us when it is not trying to ruin our pensions is flexi time, so I can get out early, though it means work piling up, but my mate sitting near to me works in the City and he does not finish work until 6.30, so he cannot get to evening games. Also, the prospect of getting up at 6.30 am after a night at Withdean and an hour and a half's walk and drive is not too pleasant. I agree with everyone else that Withdean is horrible. I don't think those who feel relegation would not matter have considered this. While I and others will make the effort to get down from London or wherever to see Stoke, Wigan, Ipswich and so on, how many are going to find Torquay on a Tuesday night at Withdean attractive, never mind away when there is no immediate chance of promotion?
