No, no, I won’t have that. The Brexit deal was oven ready. The blond liar just forgot to turn the oven on.You should have finished your post with the word BADLY!

That says it all.Not that different to the rest of the UK really - the latest survey does indicate a quite large majority (58 v 32) who think we should have stayed.
Brexit poll 2024 | Statista
The share of people who regret Brexit has increased since the UK left the EU. Recent polls show a growing majority think it was the wrong decision.www.statista.com
It's not as simple as that. That says it all.
Brexit isn't what leave voters thought it was. It isn't the success leave voters thought it would be. Brexit has not delivered whatever Brexit voters thought it would deliver.
Here we are, 7 years 4 months after the Brexit vote. The 52:48 vote for Brexit is now 58:32 saying we should have stayed in. That's not a fluke, or some anomaly in the data.
It's the product of 7 years 4 months of cold, hard, brutal, real-world, post-Brexit experience.
That’s quite a fantasy you’ve built up there. No wonder you brought Disney into it.TBF, the remain campaign didn't tell us, in what shape or form, we could hang our hat on to remain either. Or what new integration would take place without anybody (except pro-EU MPs) having a vote on.
Ironic. Remainers cannot seem to grasp the idea that 'remain' was just as much an 'article of faith' as was 'leave' to leavers. To remainers, remaining in the EU it was also sunshine and smiles, economic heaven and sunny uplands all round, without much substance - but everybody would be happy and everything wonderful. Yep, Disney could have scripted that too.
I'm bowing out of this 'debate' again now (because the massive bulk of opinion on NSC, as opposed to much of the rest of the UK, is hugely remainer territory) because it is not so much a debate here as an echo chamber of chaps revelling in confirmation bias. Fair do's - enjoy yourselves.
I will just leave with the thought that thank f*** our government (probably more through luck than judgement - they're all either stupid or corrupt, aren't they, or have I misread NSC?) had the sense (unwittingly) and the balls to say, 'Sod off to joining the Euro' - post Brexit that really would have enabled the EU to make things difficult.
That says it all.

Can you see what you are doing? 'Brexit would have worked, had it not been for unforeseen circumstances, including (select your chosen scapegoats)'.It's not as simple as that.
Corbyn and Bercow sticking their oar in, COVID and Ukraine have combined to make the transition a lot more complex than would have been otherwise.
Corbyn stuck his oar in? He was for Lexit so he didnt oppose Brexit at all. It's not as simple as that.

Oh come off it.It's not as simple as that.

Brexit will never work. The U.K. government backs it and it still doesn’t work .The problem with Brexit is that no-one expected leave to win so no-one planned for it.
What should have happened is that after the vote a national commission of some sort should have been assembled with all the political parties and all the major industries to put together a sensible plan.
What happened instead was that the woeful Theresa Remainer May sent a single civil servant to Brussels to get shafted.
Brexit will dominate the headlines all the time that the Brexit-deniers (metropolitan elite/BBC/Whitehall civil servants) continue to whinge and whine instead of backing the country.
More excuses for failure. Blame anyone and everything except Brexit. The problem with Brexit is that no-one expected leave to win so no-one planned for it.

It’s remarkable that people actually believe the reason Brexit is an abject failure is because the BBC doesn’t believe in it.More excuses for failure. Blame anyone and everything except Brexit.
To be fair, that bus was quite impressive. Just think. The Brexit campaign only needed one bus to convince 52% of the voters. It’s remarkable that people actually believe the reason Brexit is an abject failure is because the BBC doesn’t believe in it.
Small wonder it was so easy for the Leave campaign to fool so many people if this is the kind of “logic” people are employing.

Civil Servants make Parliament work within the existing laws of the country. They don’t have the power to stop anything, and whinging doesn’t change laws. That’s a ridiculous thing to post, and shows you believe the lies. The problem with Brexit is that no-one expected leave to win so no-one planned for it.

Can you provide evidence of such? The fact that your hero and leader of the Brexit campaign, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, had an 80 seat majority in the HOC giving him completely free reign to implement the exact brilliant Brexit deal that he campaigned for and you voted for, and is still completely shit, is of course, entirely irrelevant
Can you provide evidence of such?
100% this. It was never, ever going to be a success. The damage Brexiteers have done to this country is unimaginable and will eventually lead to the break up of the union. That's on them though. I voted for a better future for my kids. Can you see what you are doing? 'Brexit would have worked, had it not been for unforeseen circumstances, including (select your chosen scapegoats)'.
In other words, 7.33 years after the Brexit vote, you are (still) making excuses for failure.
