[Misc] How long do C19 vaccine side effects take to manifest themselves?

1st and 2nd jab arm felt like it had been bruised / punched but only noticed when I touched it. After the first one had a headache like I'd had a few the night before but wore off after breakfast, second no probs at all.

No side effects after the first jab.
Slight achey flu-like symptoms after the second but took a couple of paracetamol and felt completely fine and back to 100% normal 6 hours later and could've managed without the paracetamol I'm sure.
Plenty of people have had no side effects whatsoever and no reason for you to expect any.

I had the OAZ first jab and felt fine on the day.

But then I felt freezing cold for a couple of days afterwards.

I was told that meant the vaccine had worked.

And even if you dont feel a painful arm or flu like symptoms, you can still fake it for a day watching the footie or IPL on the sofa free from domestic duties!

I had already had Covid quite badly - they reckon the side effects are worse if you have had Covid.
Wife went to work the day after jab feeling fine but came home at lunch feeling very rough.
My Dad has had both jabs but had no side effects either time.

I booked it for a Sunday based on the fact that if I felt like shit the following day I'd just take Monday off work. Of course, when I booked it I completely overlooked the fact that the following Monday was a Bank Holiday. Knob.

Quick update:

I've just sat through an episode of 'Call the Midwife' without attempting to remove my brain through my nostrils with a wire coat hanger or even considering changing channels. Nobody warned me that might happen. Had they done so I would probably have backed out when I had the chance.

Injection in morning. Headache in the evening. Shivering overnight. Back to normal next day.

A sore arm as well, but that's not really a side effect.

A piece of sharpened metal's been stuck in it.

It's probably expected.

Took about 12 hours for me to start feeling utterly shit and then 48 hours to feel normal again. Same for my sister and her husband. My elderly parents didn't feel ill at all even though they're both nearly 80.

Also had AZ vaccine and just felt a bit tired/jetlagged the next day. No shakes or fever etc. Seems everyone has different reactions to it.

I appreciate this should possibly be on the Covid sub forum but this isn't really about Covid as such but more looking for advice / experiences from those that have already been vaccinated.

I was given the AZ vaccine at 10am today and anecdotal evidence from others I have spoken to - plus guidance from the NHS staff administering the vaccine - was that I shouldn't be surprsied if I feel a bit rough for a while afterwards. So far I feel fine; perhaps a little fatigued but posibly no more so than I generally do on a Sunday evening.

So if I have gone 10hrs without feeling unwell / like I have mild flu etc, is the experience of others that I'm likely to avoid the worst of the side effects (ie headache, aches, fatigue etc)? Or are they likely to kick in in the middle of the night / tomorrow?

Ive had 2 AZ jabs and felt nothing worse than a very slight headache and fatigue....this was 2 days only after the jab...But I guess everyone is different...one guy at work had 3 days off said he had bad flu like symptoms and very very tired.

I had AZ and 24 hours later I had a teeny bit of tenderness in my arm, but felt a bit like I’d been beaten up in my sleep. Felt hot, without sweating though, but actually fine overall.
I’ve had COVID and the person who gave me the jab said that the side effects of the jab are much less if you’ve had it, and so it proved for me.
That said I’ve heard others hear info to the contrary.

My brother had the same jab, and has not had COVID - and he was laid up in bed for 3 days feeling like he’d had flu.

Pfizer. First jab absolutely no probs. Second gave me mild flu symptoms the next morning for about 24 hours but a sore lower back for a week. I always get a sore back if I get flu.

I had manflu for 24 h, but Mrs T had it as well and she hasn't been jabbed. Conclusion? Placebo effect and coincidence. Bank Holiday here you come!
