unbelievable thread... And after 4 wins on the spin makes you look like more of a mug than before

Shows how fickle/stupid the fans are... embarrassing.

How were Reading doing at this stage of last season, out of interest?

At this stage last season (6 games), reading had won one, drawn one, and lost 4, scoring 5 and conceding 8.

West ham started with a loss, then had one draw and four wins to be on 13 points after 6 games, scoring 15 and conceding 7.

Yep. Football fans (love 'em) do tend to be f***ing stupid.

Good post.

Ha! Forgot about this thread.

Pathetic. And 4 wins on the trot hasn't changed that opinion of it.

Serious question.

11 competitive games on the trot without a win, no goals scored in the 3 games played this season.

How long before the fans start turning on Poyet?

I think if we lose at home on Saturday, the mood might start turning

............A month later & everything is very rosy in the garden of Amex.
However, at the time of posting the thread I think it was a worthwhile question to ask. I was not advocating anyone to turn on Poyet, however, every football manager is based on their results.

So if they were to lose their next 4 games would you wanting poyet out? It is clear he know what he is doing and the massive improvements to the team. 4 games is not enough game to sack a manager on.

Are they? I actually despise that kind of short-termist thinking - that a manager's tenure is purely results-driven.

Anyone decent chairman who wants to see stability and long-term investment will understand the whole concept of learning from knock-backs - including an occasional run of poor form, and allow situations to be resolved.

So if it was a worthwhile question to ask, it was only for the impatient and short-sighted.

Nothing miraculous about it. Give the new look side a chance and they'll start to gel. Basics of football understanding.

Yup. Plenty of gloom and doom merchants on here, told them that Kusz, Bruno and Bridge would make a massive difference and QUELLE F*CKING SURPRISE they have.

It's really, REALLY basic stuff but some people are so miserable they refuse to see logic and rational thought.

No it wasn't. It was a really f***ing stupid thread then, and it looks even more so now. Poyet's worked absolute MIRACLES here, even if we don't go up this season he has been the best manager we've had in decades.

Spot on. Thank goodness no one who thinks in such basic terms runs our football club.

It really wasn't. We played well away to Hull, and were evenly matched by Cardiff, who are a top side. There was nothing to suddenly suggest Gus was a bad manager. Had we gone on to lose the next few games, we'd still want to give it more time, and we'd want to look at why we were losing games - individual mistakes, brilliance from the opposition, bad luck, bad refereeing decision or was it bad management and can that change? At no point would any fan with football knowledge have been looking to turn on the manager.

Everyone is entitled to their views though. If the likes of @Mr_Burns and @Sir_Albion think that football under Gus is negative and boring they are free to state that.

Yup, and we're just as entitled to tell them they're talking absolute bollocks, and for that to then be proved (once again, exactly the same as happened 2nd season in League one) on the pitch.

You were using stats from last season to indicate that we had gone on a long losing run to reinforce your views without taking into consideration the strengthening of the team over the summer. It was question that you wanted to ask but used very flimsy evidence to ask it.

No it wasn't! Two games! TWO GAMES! Surely even the most gnat-brained, short-termist football fan would have thought that two games, four halves of football, was WAY to short a time span in which to form an opinion. Apparently not.

Sheesh.

(And no doubt the question will be asked again if we go another two games with no goals and only one point. I despair sometimes, I really do).
