It's Christmas Eve, it just started to snow. What could be better?

It is always better in the right weather conditions, just doesn't feel right having Christmas in 40 degrees.
It is the hottest Christmas since 1915 here and it only go up to 37 back then !

I think I'll opt out of future yule tide celebrations. Spent last year in Morocco, very strange sun bathing on christmas day, but something I wish to repeat.
It just hasn't been the same since we blocked the chimney and got central heating.....do you realise how long it takes to roast a chestnut on a radiator?

Exactly what we do every year - run away to rural France to get away from the ridiculous event. Devon this year though.

Well we’re in the middle of the plague and pestilence

Can’t see family as in Tier 4 and was up
at 3am this morning as neighbours were trying to find sandbags to minimise flooding

Can’t remember which biblical issue we have to face next?

Still feel it’s Christmas

Happy Christmas everyone!!!

I personally think it should have been cancelled and rescheduled for July 2021 throw in a couple of extra Bank Hoildays and the nation could have a great big knees up in the sunshine

Sainsburys and lidl both had live locusts deliver to uk shops in amongst deliveries of broccoli from Africa, so that only leaves famine, war and a Christmas edition of Mrs Browns boys to contend with!

I think it depends on if you have kids. My daughter is 10 and still excited (insisted we got a real tree and she named it, wrote a Santa list) so we’re being as normal as possible for her. It’s normally only the four of us on Christmas Day anyway and I spend it in the kitchen, cooking, washing up, drinking and listening to music, and that’s the plan today.

Will really feel the hit of 2020 tomorrow as we normally go to my mate’s for Boxing Day. Cocktails for all the adults, football for the men and games and dancing for the kids. That won’t be happening for the first time in six years.

It’s a pretty small hit though compared to anyone who’s missing someone this year. My heart goes out to them.

This year I don’t have to comply with the strange whims of my in laws.
Absolute bliss being in our own house, doing things our way.
Tomorrow I will watch football all day without being hovered around, and made to feel like im a neglectful parent.

I wasn't feeling christmas'y at all. But we managed to get a table at the pub with close friends at short notice so enjoyed a 3 hr and 7 pint afternoon.

Got home at 7, got the 18 month old to bed, had a dance and fun in the living room with the 6 year old before bed at 9, loved putting out the mince pies, milk etc, and thats when my mood really turned into christmas mode.

Gave it an hour before we set up the presents ready for the 5am morning wake up. Everything is set.

Bring it on and I cant bloody wait to see their faces now!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Not after the sixth pint then :lolol:

Son in law tested positive earlier in the week, so no kids/ grandkids here as everyone is isolating......so just me and the wife, same as a normal day except Kylie is on TV singing Christmas songs from a few years ago I guess.

So crappy and boring going to have a nap......

I usually hate Christmas, having a pub I’m usually always working and feel like I can’t give the children enough of my time. This year has been brilliant, no choice but to shut the pub and family time.

Brilliant.

My 37th Christmas is my first white one, so that's cheered me up somewhat.

It's very weird doing Christmas Day on my own though. I am at least meeting some friends in a park later for some mulled drinks.

Feel a bit more Christmassy today but probably due to being several drinks in. It’s made me realise how much the Christmas feeling is reliant on family times together. Merry Christmas everyone.

Possibly the earliest xmas lunch ever @ 14:30, just a couple of beers and Iggy on R6M during prep and a few glasses of wine, with the feast, at least the sun was shining. A pleasant walk on the beach this morning, dog went for a swim with a few other nutters. Santa delivered one of my dream cars, albeit in 1:32 scale, but it is electric. Late sunset stroll to work up an appeatite for cheese! The dog got a full roast for his efforts.

Just about to light the fire and watch the Italian job, thats christmassy enough for me.
