How good was Thomson today!?

[Spearritt of the Albion]

At one throw-in in the second half you could clearly her Thomson shouting "Fozzy's free, Fozzy's free". He clearly wasn't free but then you heard "Fozzy!" whilst he gestured for him to come towrds the ball. Forster moved towards the ball and opened up a huge space on the edge of the penalty area. It was a great shout by Thomson, you could see he was trying to think ahead of the game. Other than the third goal it was my best moment of the match.

Thomson is great on the ball, his tackling is sound. I don't think he made one bad tackle all game, his passing is so slick and precise its great to watch. A fantastic signing, more to come from him espically in the shooting department.

Odd then isn't it that he was dismissed as "That effing useless Irish winker (misprint)" by a palace supporting friend of mine

Yup I thought he was fantastic today. Not going to compare him to Hammond because they're both great players but I did like the fact that not only was Thomson great in front of defense, but he showed a lot of vision going forwards as well. If he can carry on playing like this he will be a great player for us for many years to come - give me his performance today over O'Callaghan any day of the week!
